Position: Casual/Part-Time Retail Associate

We're looking for a friendly, dependable Retail Associate to join the Marmalade team on a casual, long-term basis. This position is available immediately and is perfect for someone looking for flexible, part-time work during our busiest seasons without the commitment of full-time or year-round hours.

This is a casual, part-time position with hours increasing during our busy tourism and holiday seasons. During quieter months, hours may be significantly reduced or the position may be temporarily laid off until business picks up again.

We're looking for someone who enjoys this seasonal rhythm and is interested in becoming a long-term member of our team.

Our ideal candidate is available:

🧡 Weekday daytime hours
🧡 Weekends
🧡 Additional shifts during holidays and peak tourism periods, as needed

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate has a heart for serving others and enjoys creating exceptional customer experiences. You are warm, reliable, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.

Responsibilities:

- Welcome and assist customers with warmth and genuine hospitality
- Process sales accurately using our point-of-sale system
- Restock merchandise and maintain beautiful product displays
- Help keep the shop clean, organized, and inviting
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Support the team wherever needed throughout the day

Qualifications:

- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable learning new technology and point-of-sale systems
- Dependable with strong organizational skills
- Able to multitask in a busy retail environment
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Happy New Brunswick Day!

I'm feeling especially grateful this year that New Brunswick is the place I get to call home.

I grew up on the complete opposite side of the country and found my way to the East Coast 20 years ago. In fact, my first trip to New Brunswick was in July 2006, and just five weeks later I packed up my life and moved here to attend university.

But growing up on the West Coast, New Brunswick felt so far away and almost foreign. I had no idea what life was really like here.

🧡 Man, are we ever rich. Rich in kindness, community, natural beauty, and a way of life that reminds you to slow down and savour it. 🧡

And, while so many people leave New Brunswick in search of opportunities elsewhere, like Ontario, Alberta, or even British Columbia, where I grew up, I found my opportunity, my community, and my home right here.

Which is why I'll celebrate this beautiful province today and every day.

New Brunswick Day is a chance to celebrate the history, culture, and people that make this province such a remarkable part of Canada.

For me, it's the people, the slower pace of life, and the way we show up for one another that made me want to stay. Add in the breathtaking beauty of this province, and it's easy to understand why so many others fall in love with it.
