*** Artist Spotlight: Applecat ***

AppleCat is an internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, and vocalist from Canada’s West Coast, known for blending Deep Dubstep, Fairytale Bass, Trap, and various world influences into cinematic, grimy performances. Her sets feel less like a DJ set and more like a spell: bass-driven, emotional, and rooted in the belief that “a revolution without dancing is not a revolution worth having.”

Onstage, she fuses live mashups, reworks, and ethereal vocals into hypnotic basslines that move audiences both physically and emotionally. This dark b***y bouncing dubwitch bends the perception of “genre” exemplifying her unparalleled “je ne sais quoi.”

She has performed across North America, the UK, and beyond, including Burning Man, Enchanted Forest Gathering, Rifflandia, Future Forest, Evolve, Envision, and Tall Tree, sharing lineups with CloZee, Truth, Emancipator, Tipper, The Polish Ambassador, and The Halluci Nation.

Featured in the global documentary Amplify Her (2017) and interviewed in DJ Mag, AppleCat continues to evolve as a primal storyteller and sonic architect.

“Music is a possession that I desire no exorcism from. “ - AppleCat

*** Vendor/Artist Spotlight: Avalon Art & Design ***

Avalon art & design is a custom garment and costume design practice based in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Avalon creates one-of-a-kind festival wear and wearable art, inspired by years of attending gatherings like Bass Coast and Shambhala Music Festival.

Avalon’s work centers on quality, sustainability, and creativity. She prioritizes ethically sourced fabrics and takes pride in giving new life to second-hand and thrifted items, transforming them into stunning, wearable art. Her ability to blend new and repurposed materials has become a hallmark of her designs.

Last year, Avalon expanded into installation art with her first interactive piece, Wings of Renewal, featuring large owl wings with feathers made entirely from fabric scraps collected over years of sewing.

Wings of Renewal will be on display, so come check it out, step into the wings, and snap a photo!

*** Artist Spotlight :Stebbings ***

A staple of the Vancouver Island rave scene for nearly two decades, Ryan Stebbings has been keeping the island’s music community thriving long before he ever picked up a pair of headphones. From throwing iconic parties like Lucky Charms to steering the ship as one of the main heads behind Home Bass Entertainment, he’s spent years building spaces for the local rave scene to flourish.

Last September, Ryan officially jumped behind the decks and hasn’t slowed down since. He’s been popping up everywhere across the island—from Downbeat and the Waverley to beach jams and underground raves—quickly making a name for throwing down the freshest, weirdest house music around. Bottom line: there’s nowhere he won’t play, all for the love of house.

Another year at The Equinox Gathering ✨
For our third year, New Scene Entertainment was proud to supply and operate the stage lighting, with our technicians handling everything from setup and programming to show operation. We also supplied the event’s video equipment, helping bring the full production together.
The event was a huge success, and we’re grateful to be back creating memorable experiences with an incredible team. See you next year!

New fixtures, new possibilities. ✨
We recently had the opportunity to deploy our new LED tube lights at Wicked Woods in the Bears Den, followed by a full tube light setup at Summers End Music Festival.
We’re thrilled with the results and excited to add these versatile fixtures to our lighting arsenal. Our inventory now includes 14 bright, IP-rated LED tube lights that can:
• Run independently using built-in programs for site lighting or art installations
• Be fully controlled via DMX and integrated into stage lighting designs
• Add dynamic colour and atmosphere to events of all kinds
We’re looking forward to bringing these fixtures to upcoming shows, festivals, installations, and events.
