Friendly reminder from your anti-diet dietitian: your workouts are supposed to feel supported, not survived 👏🏼
These are my non-negotiables before & after a workout👇🏼
✨ EAT — before AND after. Your body needs carbs for energy, period. Skipping food before a workout is one of the fastest ways to feel weak, dizzy, exhausted, and wonder why your lifts feel harder than usual. And eating after? Just as important. Recovery matters. Your muscles, energy levels, hormones, and mood will thank you.
✨ HYDRATE — and no, coffee alone doesn’t count 😂 Have some water before your workout. Hydration impacts strength, endurance, focus, and recovery way more than people realize. And while we’re here: not everyone needs electrolytes 24/7. If you aren’t doing intense endurance training or sweating heavily, plain water is probably enough.
✨ STRETCH — before and after. Mobility and recovery become more important as we age, and your body deserves care outside of just “pushing harder.” A few minutes of stretching can go a long way in helping prevent injuries and reducing soreness.
You do not need to punish your body to be healthy. Fueling and caring for it will always outperform running on empty
