The Three Sisters in Canmore have a pretty special place in my heart, so of course I had to turn them into an embroidery piece. 🧵💛

My first time experimenting with watercolour and my first time creating something more abstract.

This piece was made back in 2020, and I remember being a little unsure of where it was going when I started. I really enjoyed letting the colours, textures, and stitches guide me along the way.

Definitely a little outside my comfort zone, but I’m still really happy with how it came together.

I'm really hoping my garden rewards me with carrots this year. 🥕🌿

After all the rain we've had in Alberta, it feels like it's become survival of the fittest out there. Every day I head outside wondering what's thriving, what's struggling, and whether my little vegetable garden will pull through.

Until I get to harvest the real thing, these embroidered carrots will have to do.

I had so much fun adding tiny flowers and greenery to something as simple as carrots. That's one of my favourite things about embroidery—you can take an everyday vegetable and turn it into something whimsical.

Here's hoping that in a few months I'll be pulling real carrots from the garden instead of stitching them. 🤞🥕

Has anyone else's garden been putting up a fight this year?
