One of our favourite suppliers is Marigold Collective. They offer handcrafted, ethical and eco-friendly products that support women and their families in Vietnam, Cambodia, India, and Bangladesh. And one of our favourite items are the Kantha throws.

What are Kantha Throws?
Kantha is a centuries-old textile tradition from India and Bangladesh. Layers of upcycled cotton saris are stitched together to create beautiful, reversible throws. The word "kantha" refers to both the repurposing of old cloth and the signature running stitch used to hold it all together. Each throw is completely unique, and Kantha craft has been passed down from generation to generation. These throws have long been made and given as gifts for celebrations of childbirth, weddings etc. Kantha Throws are an excellent example of heritage craft tradition, kind of like our Quilt tradition in European and North American countries. Functional beauty!
