I personally experience SAD and had my most recent feelings rise during the spring transition. For me, SAD often gets triggered by trauma, past memories and feelings associated with the seasons and the reminder of change and time. It scares me, gives me anxiety and ofc, episodes of depression.
HOW DO I SHAKE IT OFF?
Everyone is different. What works for me might not work for you. Don’t give up! I usually take deep breaths when the gross chest feelings of depression take over and linger. I distract myself, I talk to somebody, I journal, meditate, watch something funny or make fun plans to look forward to.
