GPT‑6 Astra is here—and the benchmark number isn’t the biggest story.

OpenAI reports a 99.9% score on ARC‑AGI‑3. But the more practical shift is computer use: in OpenAI’s OSWorld simulation, Astra completed tasks in roughly 47% less time than GPT‑5.6 Sol.

This is AI moving beyond answering questions and into complete workflows across browsers, spreadsheets, code, research and design.

My Eversko take: the next interface isn’t a better chatbot. It’s a supervised digital operator.

What would you hand off first—research, admin or coding?

NVIDIA is reportedly making a $7 billion move to build a serious U.S. open-weight rival to DeepSeek.

The reported deal includes:

• $6 billion for a non-exclusive license to Poolside’s Model Factory technology
• $1 billion invested directly into Poolside
• Job offers extended to 109 Poolside employees

Poolside’s founders are reportedly staying, and the company will continue operating independently—so this is not a traditional acquisition.

The bigger story: NVIDIA may be moving beyond supplying the chips and deeper into building the AI models that run on them.

That could strengthen its Nemotron open-weight model family and put NVIDIA into more direct competition with DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic and even some of its own largest customers.

Smart strategy—or is NVIDIA stepping onto its customers’ turf?

Stripe says the singularity already started — and it put an exact date on it:

January 1, 2026.

In an investor letter obtained by Axios, Stripe described that date as the “beginning of the singularity.”

The company was describing a major long-term technological and economic inflection point. It was not presenting scientific proof that superintelligence has arrived.

The statement came as Stripe confirmed its acquisition of AI model marketplace OpenRouter.

Wild marketing line — or a serious signal that one of technology’s most influential infrastructure companies believes the AI economy has entered a fundamentally new phase?

OpenAI just hit the brakes on parts of one of its most important upcoming models.

The company says preliminary evidence suggests Astra may meet the “Critical” cybersecurity capability threshold under its Preparedness Framework.

OpenAI has tightened workload isolation, network controls, security testing and model monitoring. It also says a significant number of Astra workloads remain paused until they meet the new security bar.

This does not mean “AI escaped.”

It does mean OpenAI believes the model may be capable enough that its previous containment and monitoring requirements are no longer sufficient.

Are frontier AI systems now advancing faster than the safeguards built around them?
