On top of the Re*****on, we also have this gorgeous and much more subdued Pauline Baynes map from 1970. Baynes was the first illustrator of Tolkien’s world and also the illustrator for the Narnia series. Equally as rare as the Re*****on, especially in this condition!

What’s cooler than the Lovecraft letter? How about this 6-feet wide Lord of the Rings panorama poster by Barbara Re*****on from 1965! The poster is so ridiculously large the framer couldn’t even special order glass this big. We still managed another method. The big reveal will be shown in 2 weeks!

For anyone who knows our store, we already have the Come to Middle Earth and Map of Middle Earth posters by Re*****on hanging on our walls. This is the only other one she made and it matches the psychedelic-style paperbacks issued by Ballantine books in the same year.

If you want to see it, it will be hanging upstairs on the office wall come September. There is no other wall that can fit this beautiful monstrosity!

Probably our coolest and rarest item we’ve acquired this year is an original handwritten letter by H.P. Lovecraft to his friend Clark Ashton-Smith. Amongst many things, Lovecraft touches on his upcoming travels to old Quebec.

A full transcription of this letter will be shown at the Toronto Antiquarian Show this November!

Here’s one of our top finds of the year…a playbill from 1966 signed by all 3 members of The Supremes! Quite rare as Florence Ballard died at a young age. Also signed by actor Red Buttons and one other signature that I’m still trying to decipher 🕵️‍♂️

We will be showcasing this item at the Toronto Antiquarian show in November 🎶📚
