Disability Pride Month is a time to celebrate the strength, diversity, and contributions of the disability community while recognizing the ongoing work toward true accessibility and inclusion.
The passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990 marked a historic step forward, establishing civil rights protections that prohibit discrimination and expand access to employment, education, transportation, public spaces, and more. More than three decades later, the ADA remains a vital foundation for advancing equity—but its promise requires continued advocacy, awareness, and action.
This Disability Pride Month, we honor the progress made through the ADA, celebrate disability as a valued part of human diversity, and recommit to creating communities where everyone can participate fully and thrive. Accessibility isn't an accommodation for some—it's a benefit for us all.
