A little update from me. ❤️

I’ve realized that I need to take a little more time away from the shop to rest, recharge and take care of myself.

The shop will be closed this week, and I’m going to take things one week at a time rather than set a reopening date before I’m ready.

When I do return, I may be coming back with reduced hours for a while. I’ll keep you posted here as I figure out what works best.

Running a small business means so much to me, but sometimes you have to listen when your body and mind are telling you it’s time to slow down.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding and continued support. It truly means a lot. ❤️

Saturday at Home 🏠

Apparently I’m not the only collector in this house. 😂

I originally bought this cabinet to house Mark’s whisky collection. At the time, there were a few beer glasses in there too, and everything fit quite nicely.

Well… that didn’t last.

Mark does beer videos on YouTube, which apparently requires more and more beer glasses. 😄 Over time, the glass collection grew, and grew, and eventually took over the entire cabinet.

The whisky got evicted.

So now the glasses have the cabinet and the whisky collection lives on top. Not exactly what I had planned when I bought it, but I actually love the way it has evolved.

I guess collections have a way of finding their own space in a home… whether you planned for them or not!

Anyone else have a collection that started small and somehow took over? 😂

A little change of plans! 🌸

I’ve decided to make this weekend an extra-long one, so the shop will also be closed Saturday.

Sometimes you just have to take advantage of a little extra time away! ❤️

Five Friday Favourites — #5 of 5 🕯️

And just like that, we’ve made it to #5!

I had to save Log Cabin by Market Candle Company for last. ❤️

If you’ve spent any time in the boutique, chances are you already know this scent. Log Cabin has become our signature scent — it’s the fragrance you smell when you walk through the door, and one that I never seem to get tired of.

I also love that Market Candle Company is a woman-owned Ontario company based in Newmarket. Supporting Canadian businesses whenever I can is something that has always been important to me when choosing what to carry in the shop.

So there you have it — my Five Friday Favourites:

A little heads-up for Friday! 🎶

The shop will be closing early at 1:00 PM this Friday.

Why? Because sometimes the florist needs to trade flowers for a little Pink Floyd! 😂🎸

I’m off to Ottawa to see The Australian Pink Floyd Show at the Hard Rock, and I’m pretty excited!

So if you need flowers, a gift, or a little treasure for the weekend, make sure to stop in before 1:00 PM on Friday.

🍂 Well, if these don’t make you want to paint something…

Fusion Mineral Paint has put together some beautiful fall inspiration using six colours that are just perfect for this time of year — Tuscan Orange, Highlander, Elderberry, Pressed Fern, Oakham and Prairie Sunset.

I love seeing the colours actually used on furniture because sometimes that little jar on the shelf doesn’t quite show you just how beautiful a colour can be!

And apparently fall is a perfectly good excuse to give that piece you’ve been staring at a whole new look. 😉

Which one would you choose? I’m having a hard time picking a favourite.

Saturday at Home 🏠

I may have a bit of a thing for old frames. 😄

But who says a frame actually has to have a picture in it?

Around my home, I use old frames in all kinds of ways — around other frames, around pieces of art, around objects, and sometimes… just frames inside frames with absolutely nothing in them!

I love the character of old ornate frames, especially when they’re a little worn and imperfect. To me, the frame can be every bit as interesting as whatever is inside it.

The fiddle is probably one of my favourites. It belonged to my mom, and instead of putting it away somewhere, I love that the old frame turns it into a piece of art while still letting the fiddle itself be the star.

And then there are the empty ones. No artwork required. ❤️

I think decorating is so much more interesting when you stop worrying about what something is supposed to be used for and just use it in a way that makes you happy.

Five Friday Favourites — #4 of 5 🥗

We’re already at #4 in my Five Friday Favourites!

This week, it’s Mrs. McGarrigle’s Salad Dressing — because apparently my favourite things include paint, skincare, cleaning products AND food! 😂

This is one of those products that I genuinely enjoy myself, which is exactly why it made its way into my Five Favourite Things basket for the shop’s 5th anniversary.

Made right here in Ontario by Mrs. McGarrigle’s in Merrickville, it’s a simple little favourite that can turn an everyday salad into something just a little more special.

One more favourite to go… and if you know the shop well, you just might be able to guess what #5 will be. 😉

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the time has come. Release day is always my favourite time of the year!

My 2027 Calendars are now up for sale! This years Calendar is my greatest creation yet. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be able to produce a Calendar quite like this while only having chases in Ontario and Quebec. But 2026's chasing season was something I have never seen before here, and the scenes I saw on the road this year are a stark reminder of that. I went back and forth with myself on whether to include sunset photos this year or do just storm photos on each month, and what I can tell you is.....well, that's a surprise, you'll only be able to know what it looks like when you get one. ;)

Although prices have gone up across the board for shipping, I feel as though raising my price is not fair to all of you who very kindly support me with buying a Calendar each and every year. That said, as usual, Calendars are $30.00 plus a $5 shipping fee, so $35.00 in total. If you are picking them up from me or one of the stores they will be in (more on that in the coming weeks), the shipping cost gets waived and they are just the $30.00.

These Calendars are how I'm able to fund my chasing content on Facebook and YouTube. Without your support, this would not be possible, and for that I'm forever grateful to all of you who purchase these Calendars.

Last year, you all brought another record breaking year with the end number of Calendars purchased last season being 653. This year's goal: 750. I have immense confidence that we will be able to reach that goal with hard work, determination, and a lot of late nights.
