The biggest week of the year in Armstrong 🎡

The IPE & Stampede has always been such a special part of the community, bringing the town together to celebrate the end of summer with everything from farm animals and agriculture exhibits to rides, rodeo and all the fair favourites 🤠

Of course, I had to bring along a little Armstrong tea with me! This calming blend was created as a little celebration of Armstrong, with oatstraw, lemon balm, raspberry pieces and lavender 🫖 🌾

Hi, I’m still here 👋

I’ve taken a little step back lately, making time to slow down, sip tea, eat scones and soak up these last couple of weeks of summer with my family. ☀️

Between swimming and skating lessons, plus all the other little adventures that come with summer, it’s been nice to simply enjoy this season together before my little guy starts school. 🥺

I’m feeling refreshed and excited to be popping up at a few events next month, so stay tuned! 🫖✨

With the smoky skies lately, Breathe has been the tea I’ve found myself reaching for most 🫖💨🤍

I created this blend with herbs like Krishna Tulsi, Mullein Leaf, Licorice Root, Peppermint and Marshmallow Root to help support the respiratory system while also encouraging a quiet moment to slow down, breathe deeply, and reset.

Afternoon tea is even more magical when it’s shared with little ones 🫶🫖✨

We spent the afternoon at Mackie Lake House’s Teddy Bear Tea Party yesterday, and I think this was our favourite year yet.

The setting was beautiful, with pretty teacups, the gentle sound of a harpist, delicious afternoon tea treats, and thoughtful activities for the kids including story time and a scavenger hunt around the grounds.

One very unexpected guest decided to join us for tea too...Darth Vader himself! Somehow, he managed to fit right in, and I have a feeling this won’t be his last tea party. 🤭☕️

Thank you to everyone at Mackie Lake House for creating such a memorable afternoon and Maria Jeppesen & RAIN DAISY for being part of the experience! 💕

It’s a warm one this week, so here’s another refreshing iced tea recipe to help you cool down 😎☀️

This Shuswap Berry Lime Fizz recipe is made with my fruity Shuswap black tea blend, berries, fresh lime, sparkling water, and mint. Here’s how to make it:

☕️ Steep Shuswap double strength (my Breakfast blend works beautifully too) and chill (add your sweetener of choice while hot, if desired)
🫐 Gently muddle a small handful of fresh or frozen raspberries or blackberries in the bottom of a glass
🧊 Fill the glass with ice
🫖 Pour over the chilled tea (about 3/4 full)
🍋‍🟩 Top with sparkling water, a squeeze of fresh lime, and fresh mint
☀️ Give everything a gentle stir and enjoy!

I first shared this recipe during the Tea & Herbal Association Can. Iced “Tea” V livestream and it’s such a refreshing way to enjoy black tea during the summer months.

One of the questions I get asked most, especially at markets is, “What’s your favourite tea?” 🫖

The truth is, it really depends on the moment. Lately I’ve been reaching for my Soleil green tea when I want something bright and refreshing (it’s also delicious iced on these warm summer days ☀️). Midnight is one of my favourite black tea blend when I’m looking for something rich and grounding, and I’ll never say no to a bold cup of Breakfast tea in a pretty teacup (especially with a warm scone on the side ☕️🍰).

That’s one of the things I love most about tea...different blends suit different moments, so if you ask me again tomorrow, my answer might be completely different. 😜
