S***T SHOOTERS
At HP the business of making leather kit for hunters was born from wanting to put ideas I had over the years into good, well made, reliable kit for hunters. That's how the "thumb port " sling was brought about.
Thanks to fellow hunters, male and female alike, other requests for specific articles they thought of, have resulted in more successful creations.
An original customer, who some would call a "driven" hunter is also an avid s***t shooter, whose young daughter shoots with him, both hunting and s***t.
A SHELL BAG for s***t shooters was always a topic for discussion. I'm not a "s***t shooter" and had to rely on Steve Bound of the BARRIE GUN CLUB for guidance.
Many patterns, prototypes and meetings were held.
Steve attended various shoots and sought input from other shooters in examining and trying the bag out in the field. I have always said if I don't use it, I don't make or sell it. In this case, I relented and relied on other avid and noted shooters.
A club plaque for the bags was in order but due to the intricate components it could not be hand tooled in the HP shop.
Another original customer and hunter jumped in. Kyle Baker, over in Smiths Falls developed a business called Krafty Designs, using lasers.
The leather stock was sent over and K**e produced the crest seen on the bags and slings.
AMAZING ...3 hunters combine ideas and skills to bring a quality shell bag to the field.
