These earrings represent the land that has been my home for the last four years. This is where my husband and I started our family. This is where I have been reconnecting with my Indigenous roots and learning more deeply about community, identity, and belonging.

And although Mexico will always be my home, Neyaashiinigmiing will have a “pedacito” in my heart too. Miigwech for embracing me, teaching me, and allowing me to grow on this land.

Today I hold space for the lives of Indigenous women and girls who are missing or were taken too soon. 🧡

As a woman coming from a country deeply affected by feminicide (Mexico) this is not distant to me. It’s a shared grief, a shared urgency, and a reminder of how much work still needs to be done—across borders, across communities.

At Plata Viva MX, I believe in honoring culture, stories, and the women who carry them. Today, I stand in quiet solidarity, listening, learning, and remembering.
