🎨Learning more about the life and times of Vincent Van Gogh through digital art was so cool! His struggle with mental health and success was real.

I was originally trained as an artist. Flowing with the process is part of that learning; however, it is difficult to surrender those feelings of failure and frustration when it doesn’t go the way you’d hoped. I had a teacher who would ask, “Are you done? Happy with it? Great, now change it.” It was infuriating and set me up for patience with the creative process.

My wife says that everything I do always looks fantastic in the end - I finally banned her from the shop because her comments and questions during the messy middle have been a challenge to our relationship in the past.

I’m improving with age and experience, but this quote resonated with me. Do you feel this way too?

🏠This rammed earth home is going to be gorgeous! I poured these concrete windowsills in place and they match the style perfectly. These sills are durable and beautiful using local sand which makes them appear almost rosy in color in these photos.

I’ve always wanted to work with rammed earth and those who know me know I love natural building! Inspired by Peggy 's FabulousFarm, my own home and shop are made with a combination of chip in-fill, conventional stick frame, clay plaster, and clay paint. We have very different styles, but natural building can be applied in diverse ways.

Concrete window sills complement natural homes so well. I have them throughout our buildings and I love them. I can’t wait to get to the interior precast window sills for this rammed earth home. They're going to shine against those spectacular walls.

🌠This outdoor kitchen countertop turned out beautifully in complement to my buddy's landscaped outdoor oasis. He's going to finish the fronts to complete the picture. I so look forward to seeing how it all turns out!

Our friend has been working on his gorgeous outdoor kitchen space. He is a landscape artist and his property is amazing! This was a fun one because I was enhancing what already exists from the work he's done. This picture is the beginning of the formwork and then troweling. I’ll post more finished pictures in the coming weeks. 🌳🔪
