Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there — who give endlessly, encourage, love, and care. 💕
Motherhood and entrepreneurship have been closely linked for me. One year after starting Animazul, I became a mother. The day I signed the papers for the GmbH, we told our family we were expecting.
I’ve opened pop-ups with my kids around, set up displays at partner stores, done photo shoots — they’ve been part of the process from the very beginning, and most probably anyone who has worked with me has met them one way or another. They’ve accompanied me on sourcing trips, to the post office, to markets… they are Animazul too.
Thank you, my boys — for your patience, your company, and for making every day an adventure. 💕
It hasn’t always been easy. Covid hit with a baby at home and no childcare. I organized pop-ups without knowing I was pregnant the second time around. There were days the kids were sick and I still had to show up. It’s been a juggle — but I’m happy to have done it. Especially with a lot of support from family, friends, and sometimes even clients. And if you’re a mother dreaming of building something of your own: it’s possible. It won’t be perfect, but it will be yours.
And my biggest supporter: my mom. 💕 She was the first person I told I wanted to start Animazul. She helped me select the very first collection, has been my investor, best client, and trusted advisor — and she is the one who showed me the love for Latin American craftsmanship and the art behind it.
But the greatest gift she gave me? She taught me to dream, to believe in myself, and to fly — to chase my dreams by working hard.
This one’s for her, and for all the mothers who make us brave.
