Report: Test Results of 8 Mainstream Power Bank Cells Released
Our company has used high-resolution ultrasonic transmission detection technology to carry out the first round of ultrasonic non-destructive testing special action for power bank products of mainstream brands. Today, we announce the first batch of test results:
I. Classification of Test Results
1. Well-performing cells (2 pieces)
-Detection characteristics: Uniform acoustic wave transmission, no significant abnormalities found.
-Special note: The power banks composed of these two cells are identified as "the highest risk", with specific reasons to be discussed in detail in the subsequent report.
2.Cells with mild safety hazards (5 pieces)
- Detection characteristics: Local gas production or electrolyte loss.
- Risk level: Classified as "mild safety hazard".
3. Cell with high safety risk (1 piece)
- Detection characteristics: Large-area signal attenuation, suspected severe gas production or liquid consumption.
- Risk level: Determined as "high safety risk".
II. Follow-up Arrangements
In response to the issues found in this test, our company will further carry out the following work:
- Conduct in-depth disassembly and cell performance retesting on the "highest-risk" power banks to analyze the causes of risks;
- Carry out cycle life tests and thermal runaway simulation experiments on cells with safety hazards to assess actual usage risks;
- Feedback the test results to relevant brand owners and promote the industry to establish stricter cell safety testing standards.
