Here's a quick guide on connecting the D350 AVR to your PC with Leroy Somer software. No power cord needed—just the NF Link cable straight to USB. 💻📟
Hardware:
🔌 Align the NF Link connector's two holes with the D350 pins. Press down firmly until it clicks. Plug the USB end into your computer. No power adapter required.
Software:
💻 Open Leroy Somer. You'll see D350, D550, D700—double-click D350 and select Expert mode for full parameter access.
📊 Click "Download data from regulator" to read the current settings from the AVR into your PC.
Settings:
🌐 Choose your language—French, English, Spanish, and more.
⚙️ Set voltage, frequency, and current as needed.
Write Back:
💾 Click "Write AVR from PC" → select YES. Parameters are written into the AVR. The indicator light flashes during transfer—that means the link is live.
Done. Your D350 is ready for normal operation. No complicated wiring, no external power. Just NF Link, USB, and a few clicks.

Governor pulled from an engine and you don't know if it's good? Need to verify over-speed protection works? Not sure what frequency the rated speed is set at?
This speed signal generator is your answer. Compact, compatible with most governors, three key functions to diagnose governor condition in minutes:
⚙️ Function 1: Quick function check
The tester outputs a simulated speed signal directly to the governor. If the actuator responds, basic function is confirmed. Dead governors get identified immediately.
⚡ Function 2: Over-speed protection verification
Increase the output frequency beyond the rated value and observe whether the governor enters over-speed protection—cutting output or triggering an alarm means the protection is working.
📊 Function 3: Rated speed frequency estimation
By adjusting the output signal frequency and observing the actuator transition point from fully open to fully closed, you can roughly determine the governor's rated frequency setting. Useful for commissioning and troubleshooting.
💡 Summary: One signal generator, three checks—does it work? Is over-speed protection active? What's the frequency setting? No engine, no sensors—all done on the bench.

This video is a complete hands-on recording of the DSE5110 controller undergoing a manual start test on the test bench. It covers initial parameter checks, manual start operation, voltage/frequency comparison, and a low oil pressure alarm shutdown demonstration.
📌 Test Sequence Index:
1 – Initial state: Line voltage 0V, Current 0A, Pressure sensor 0, Default temperature 35°C
2 – Manual start initiated, test bench running normally
3 – Controller phase voltage vs. test bench phase voltage comparison (error within 1–2 units, normal)
4 – 3-phase 230V confirmed, phase voltage and frequency verification
5 – Pressure sensor reading and adjustment
6 – Low oil pressure alarm triggered, controller stops operation
Key Verification Points:
All pre-start values are zero or default, confirming proper sensor calibration
After manual start, controller readings closely match test bench parameters
Frequency reading matches the test bench
Low oil pressure condition triggers alarm and shutdown—protection logic verified

This video covers a critical setup point for the DSE5110 auto start system: Terminal 10 INPUT1 requires an external relay.
Many technicians new to the DSE5110 encounter this problem during commissioning: the remote start signal is sent, but the controller does nothing. All wiring seems fine—yet the issue usually lies with Terminal 10.
According to the DSE official manual, Terminal 10 is a negative-switched configurable input. In typical auto start applications, it must be wired through an external relay—the mains detection or remote start signal passes through the relay contacts before reaching this input, allowing the controller to correctly initiate the automatic start sequence.
⚠️ Important: Do NOT apply external voltage to this circuit—doing so may damage the control system.

Generator techs—seen this board before? It's the 3044196 governor, standard on NTA855 engines up to 300KW 👇
Just four pots on this board. Get these right and you can fix 90% of speed issues yourself:
IDLE – sets idle speed, clockwise = increase ⬆️
RUN – sets rated speed, clockwise = increase ⬆️
GAIN – controls stability & response. Set it to 5–7 marks and leave it.
DROOP – turn to minimum for single-unit operation, adjust only for paralleling.
Terminals: 1/2 to the battery, 3/4 to the actuator, 5/6 to the magnetic pickup sensor—don't mix them up ⚡

This 2m20s video breaks down the Cummins 4914090 soft-start governor. We walk through every wiring terminal (pins 1–11) and explain exactly what the four onboard potentiometers—IDLE, RUN, GAIN, and DROOP—actually do. Suitable for Cummins NTA855, K19, and other PT fuel pump engines up to 350KW. Features green soft-start for reduced black smoke and actuator short-circuit protection. #4914090

Generator repair techs—got a governor pulled off and not sure if it's good or bad? Afraid of burning the actuator if you reinstall it? This video introduces a must-have little tool: the simple governor tester. Just 40 seconds, and we'll walk you through it step by step! 👇
🔌 Wiring is actually very simple:
Connect the tester's input terminals to a DC power supply (mind the polarity—reverse connection will fry the board!)
Connect the output terminals directly to the corresponding actuator port on the governor body
Connect the signal terminals to the magnetic pickup sensor simulation signals
⚠️ Safety Reminders:
The voltage supply for the governor under test and the tester must match (check carefully: 12V or 24V).
For first-time use, it's recommended to test with a lower voltage first. Once wiring is confirmed correct, then apply the rated voltage.
The actuator should be unloaded during testing—don't connect it to the fuel pump or throttle linkage.

This video walks you through the basics of the SX460 Automatic Voltage Regulator—one of the most widely used AVRs in small diesel and petrol generators. Whether you're new to generator repair or an experienced tech looking for a refresher, this is essential knowledge.
⚠️ Safety Notes:
Always shut down the generator and disconnect all power before wiring or adjusting the AVR.
For initial commissioning, set VOLT to mid-range and STAB to minimum, then fine-tune after starting the generator.
Double-check F+ / F- polarity. Reversing these leads may result in low, unstable, or zero output voltage.
