Largest Semi-Submersible Production Platform

Location: 240 km southeast of New Orleans
Thunder Horse is the largest semi-submersible production, drilling, and quarters platform in the world. Designed to withstand Category 5 hurricanes, it typically houses a crew of about 200.
Thunder Horse PDQ was evacuated with the approach of Hurricane Dennis in July 2005. After the hurricane passed, the platform fell into a 20~30 degree list and was in danger of foundering.

The P-79 FPSO is one of the largest FPSOs globally. It operates at a water depth exceeding 2,000 meters and integrates oil extraction, processing, and storage into a single massive vessel.
The P-79 project includes 14 wells, eight producers and six WAG injectors (alternating water and gas injection). The hull was built at the Hanwha Ocean shipyard in Geoje-Si, where the integration and commissioning of the topside modules, manufactured in China, Brazil, South Korea, and Indonesia, also took place.

The Turritella, a converted Suezmax tanker, started producing in September 2016 on the Stones field. SBM Offshore and Shell had engaged in front-end development work for the FPSO for two years prior to Shell awarding SBM the conversion and subsequent 10-year lease/operate contract in July 2013.
Shell purchased the FPSO from the SBM/Mitsubishi/NYK Line joint venture for around $1 billion in 2018. Transitioning the ownership and operations of the vessel to Shell allows the company to pursue additional efficiencies and achieve cost improvements.

Since the early 1980s, Dongsu has been dedicated to the development, design, and manufacture of safety equipment and high-pressure testing devices used in oil & gas exploration drilling, such as BOP Control System and pneumatic /electric pressure test unit, choke manifold control panel, as well as specialized spare parts.

Heidrun is a field on Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea, 30 kilometres northeast of the Åsgard field. Heidrun was discovered in 1985, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1991. The field has been developed with the world's first ever floating concrete tension-leg platform (TLP), installed over a large subsea template with 56 well slots.
