Huaisheng translates to “Remembering the Sage,” a name chosen to honor the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)🤍
The Huaisheng Mosque (also known as the Lighthouse Mosque or the Great Mosque of Guangzhou) is one of the oldest and most culturally significant mosques in the world. It serves as a physical record of the early relationship between China and the Islamic world.🤍
It is widely believed to have been built by Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas, a companion and maternal uncle of the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH). He was sent to China as an envoy, marking the beginning of Islam’s presence in the country.
