This is a custom-made Qing sword created for a client last year. I have to admit, it was quite a challenging project.
The design references for the pommel and guard were sourced from two different swords — one featuring a rounded collar and the other a squared collar, as shown in the picture. Combining these two styles seamlessly through the handle proved to be very difficult.
Every single part of this sword was entirely handmade, with an effort to adhere to the measurements provided by the client.
In the end, while the sword turned out to be beautifully finished, it was unfortunately a failed custom project due to certain details that didn’t meet the client’s expectations, such as the fittings colour and handle wraps colour. I sincerely apologize for taking such a long time on this project and still failing to achieve the desired result. Although this was a failed custom piece, I still wanted to share it, as I personally admire the sword’s design and am impressed by its dimensions.
As a responsible and professional craftsman, we refunded the full amount to the client. The sword will later be offered at a discounted price.
