Conversely, high-density configurations such as drive-in or push-back racking reduce aisle space and increase storage volume, albeit with limited accessibility.
Modern developments in pallet racking theory also emphasize seismic resilience, dynamic load behavior, and integration with automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). Finite element analysis (FEA) and computational modeling are increasingly employed to simulate stress points and optimize member sizing, ensuring compliance with international safety standards such as RMI (USA), FEM (Europe), or AS4084 (Australia).
