How we approach game localization โ a quick look inside our workflow ๐ฎ๐
Good localization isn't just about translating words. It's about preserving tone, cultural nuance, and consistency across every piece of content โ from UI text to character dialogue.
Here's how we do it ๐
๐ Phase 1: Pre-Project Preparation
โข Analyze the game's lore, characters, tone, and key terminology
โข Select native linguists with genre-specific experience
โข Leverage existing lore bibles, style guides, or previous translations to ensure alignment with your creative vision
๐ Phase 2: Translation & Terminology Management
โข Translate all content with attention to context and cultural nuance
โข Build a dedicated glossary per language to ensure consistent use of key terms (character names, spells, items, etc.) across all text and future updates
โข Set up a shared query sheet (via Lark/online doc) for translators to raise questions and for you to respond directly โ keeping communication clear and efficient
โ
Phase 3: Quality Assurance & Final Delivery
โข Run a professional QA tool check to catch typos, punctuation errors, number inconsistencies, and missing/incorrect translations
โข All issues are fed back to the linguist for correction, iterated until fully resolved
โข Deliver polished, final files in your preferred format
โข Optional: In-game LQA (hourly rate) to verify UI fit and contextual accuracy within the live build
We've built a dedicated game division with a project management team that lives and breathes game localization โ from deep industry experience to a full grasp of best practices.
If you're working on a game and exploring localization options, we're just a message away. ๐
