Located in the historic center of Mexico City and built in 1596 is Casa de Los Azulejos. This is possibly one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve seen.

If you know me, you know my love languages are dogs, music and old buildings. Well 2 out 3 isn’t half bad!

My camera roll is filled with photos of sooooooo many absolutely stunning buildings from this time period. Getting out of the “newer” areas (which are still very old) and into the heart of CDMX with its gorgeous buildings and bustling streets has been the highlight of my visit thus far.

Among my favorite pastimes - voyerism.

We are all here on this rock in the midst of a wondrous galaxy living our little lives day-to-day.

Each one of us a story. Each one of us with moments of joy, sadness, pain, wins, losses, sickness, health, etc.

I get a lot of pleasure from people watching and making up stories in my head about each of them. Where they’re from, where they’re going, where they’ve been.

Long overdue vacation to a city that has called my name for many years.

It’s reminded me of how I ended up in Costa Rica. I came in 2006 for a surf trip with an ex-boyfriend. I’d heard good things about CR but until he invited me, I hadn’t planned any trips. When we got off the plane something washed over me immediately. I told him “Whoa! This place feels good on my skin. I can’t explain it.” I never could’ve imagined that 2 years later, I’d have sold all my belongings, quit my job, and moved here with only my dog, a big backpack and a small amount of savings. 18 years later, I’m still here, with 2 businesses, experiences living at the beach, and now in the heart of the capital city.

But life is changing. The world is changing. And boy am I changing. I can feel that maybe there are other big changes coming in the next years of my life.

And if I’ve learned anything in my life, it’s:
- we never know what’s coming down the tracks at us.
- our desires and wishes hold SOOOO much power.
- life is so full of beautiful surprises.

When I do a production, I always have a lot of scraps left over. But nothing is ever really trash in the studio.

Hand drawn designs on brass, chemically etched and formed into bracelets, earrings and rings.

These beauties are headed out on Friday to shops in Playas del Coco and Barrio Escalante.
