A beautiful opening night for the 2nd Kung Fu Film Festival Denmark 🎬🥋

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of joining the opening of this year’s festival — a cinema full of people, stories, and a shared love for Asian film and culture.

UME is proud to support this year’s Kung Fu Film Festival. For us, being part of Copenhagen is about more than having stores here. It is also about showing up, taking part, and supporting the people and events that bring Asian culture closer to the city we call home.

Thank you to everyone behind the festival for making it happen, and to everyone who filled the cinema yesterday. ❤️

🥋 KUNG FU IS COMING TO COPENHAGEN! 🎬

From 18–22 September, the Kung Fu Film Festival is coming to Grand Teatret — bringing Chinese martial arts cinema to the big screen.

And UME is happy to be part of it. ❤️

🎟️ Every festival ticket includes a 50 DKK UME voucher, which can be used at our Kødbyen, Amager, Vanløse and Lyngby stores.

The programme brings together legendary kung fu classics and a new generation of Chinese cinema — from The Way of the Dragon, The Shaolin Temple and Ip Man 4 to Blades of the Guardians, Stuntman, I Am What I Am 2 and more.

All films are screened with English subtitles.

At UME, we love supporting experiences that bring Asian food, stories and culture closer to everyday life in Copenhagen. This time, we’ll meet you at the cinema. 🍿❤️

This Saturday, August 15 at 12:00, Tivoli officially opens its brand-new Japanese street: Hikari 光— which means light in Japanese. ✨

And it’s not just any Saturday… it’s also Tivoli’s 183rd birthday 🎂🎉
A day filled with special celebrations, surprises, and festive activities all around the gardens — truly a double celebration for everyone visiting!

Come explore Hikari with UME Konbini & Comé Rice Kitchen, alongside two new rides, incredible food, souvenirs, and plenty of Japanese culture to discover. 🇯🇵

🏮 Find UME Konbini inside the temple beneath the glowing “光” lantern.

🍙 And right by the big round LED screen playing those adorable animations — that’s where you’ll find Comé Rice Kitchen.

Korean syrups are so much more than ingredients for traditional Korean cooking — they’re surprisingly versatile in everyday life, too. ✨

Take rice syrup, for example. Besides being used in classic Korean desserts, it makes a delicious alternative to maple syrup on pancakes and waffles. It also adds a subtle toasted-rice sweetness to coffee, making it a fun twist on your usual vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut syrup.

Corn syrup is another Korean kitchen essential. Its mild sweetness and silky texture make it perfect for baking, homemade gelato, candies, and glossy sauces. It’s also the secret to that beautiful shine on Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki.

Looking for something refreshing? 🍋 Yuzu syrup is made with Korean yuzu and is perfect mixed with sparkling water for an easy summer drink. It also makes a soothing cup of hot tea and pairs beautifully with yogurt, desserts, and even cocktails.
