Dear everyone,

The youngest heir has insisted that we must keep up with the times and so she’s opened up an Instagram account - It is 2020 after all (and what a year it has been…). As such, most of our content will be posted on Instagram going forward, so feel free to give us a follow on to join in on the action.

We hope everyone is staying safe and getting through these troubled times unscathed - Here's to a 2021 that is more about than

Good job people! As Steffen Hesselager rightly pointed out, as the first one, these are indeed chamber reamers, used to ream the chamber to the correct size depending on the caliber. As the picture implies, the proces is in two steps; at first the courser reamer, also known as the 'rougher', is used to get the chamber to around 90% size and then finally the 'finisher' is used to finish off the chamber to tighter and finer specifications.

Today we have our next battle of wits based on tools used for building a rifle and this time we've tried to make it a little more difficult. Specifically this is a picture of a drawer in our workshop.
Can you guess what these are for?

This morning we received an email from a happy customer who has fitted a Jensen barrel on his rifle. Enclosed with the email was his target from the initial zeroing in at 100 meters. This being factory ammunition as well as a brand new barrel, the owner expects that the barrel will yield even greater precision when it's broken in and when he finds a suitable load.
Life's too short for imprecise rifles, don't you think?

Have you ever owned a rifle that simply didn't live up to your expectations when it came to reliable precision? The owner of this rifle had these very issues. The factory fitted .22-250 carbon fiber barrel could barely deliver reliable 1-inch groups on 100m when cold, and so proved to be troublesome when the intended use was extended periods of culling in South Africa which involves many successive shots demanding high levels of precision in every shot. Instead of buying a brand new rifle the desperate owner turned to us and asked for a solution and that's what he got; a brand new .243 Wi******er barrel with our signature cut rifling which yields dependable performance even when the barrel is warm. The result is sub 1/4-inch groups at 100m.

Prior to creating a rifle stock, the customer chooses between a vast array of turkish walnut blanks in different grades and qualities. Each of these are unique and therefore has different patterns and colors, and so the customer can choose exactly how they want the finished rifle to look and feel. To give you an idea of what making a rifle stock involves, we have a few pictures describing the first few steps in the process.

Who would have thought that most of our followers were experts on the tools used to build rifles. As very poorly demonstrated in the picture by someone who obviously doesn't do our rifle stocks, it was indeed a checkering tool used for hand checkering the rifle stock to 20 lines per inch. Next time we promise to make it more difficult for you guys. Till next week, have a nice weekend!
