Once a year, Mexico City’s Polanco neighbourhood is transformed into a vibrant garden. Since 2017, the Festival de Flores y Jardines (FYJA) has brought florists, landscape architects, and artists together to create monumental flower arches and temporary gardens throughout the city.

Latin American photographers Greta Rico and Luvia Lazo followed the 2026 festival with the Leica SL3, documenting the journey from harvest to market to installation. This year’s theme, “the Mexican garden,” celebrated the country’s biodiversity, history, and the importance of gardens to Mexico City.
