🍻 The Good B**r Guide 2027 has landed! 📖

Did you know there are around 45000 pubs in the UK, but CAMRA's guide features just 4500? That means only the top 10% make the cut. Unfortunately, it also means many fantastic pubs miss out.

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating the launch at The Oxford Bar in Edinburgh, which actually features on the front cover of this year's guide. We even caught up with Sir Ian Rankin, who wrote this edition's foreword.

It got us wondering... how many of this year's featured pubs are using Real Ale Finder to keep drinkers updated on their current b**r line-up? 📲🍺

Had a brilliant day at Jump Ship Brewing for the Women in B**r collaboration with Closet Brewing! 🍻

Thanks to the Women in B**r team for organising such a wonderful event. We got properly stuck into every step of the brew day, from hauling heavy malt bags and mashing in to measuring out hop pellets and scrubbing down equipment to craft a brand new alcohol-free Hibiscus and Tayberry Radler. 🌺🍓

There's nothing like rolling up your sleeves and doing the physical work alongside an awesome group of women in the industry. It was also great sampling some lovely b**rs from both breweries throughout the day. 🍻

Massive thanks to Jump Ship and Closet Brewing for hosting such an awesome day. Can't wait to try this fruity, refreshing brew once it's canned! ✨

Great Friday night out at Tempest Brewing for their annual Borderlands Craft B**r Festival! Nice to go to an event a little closer to home for a change, just a short train ride away. 🍻

There was a good variety of b**rs throughout the evening, with a solid mix of Tempest's own taps alongside some quality guest lines, though I would have preferred to see a few more dark b**rs on offer. It was great to try some b**rs from different breweries that we don't usually see, and even better to meet Connor from Thistly Cross C***r and Jack from Baron Brewing to finally put faces to names, as well as catching up with Sam from Eskbank Brewing Company and Ricky from Bear Claw Brewery.🍺

I completely forgot to take a photo of the outside (classic mistake!), but the atmosphere inside the taproom and brewery was brilliant. Good b**r, great company and a lovely local vibe all round.✨

Massive thanks to the Tempest crew for putting on such a well-run event! 🙌

To round off our Tamworth pub tour, we made our way to The Old Bank House! 🏛️🍺

Situated on Lady Bank, this 1845 Victorian building holds a blue plaque marking its history as Sir Robert Peel's Tamworth Savings Bank, the town's very first purpose-built bank.

Behind the stone exterior, you will find several cosy, intimate rooms filled with fireplaces, crystal chandeliers and deep leather armchairs, as well as a b**r garden to the rear. It is a wonderful space to settle in and soak up the atmosphere.

At the bar, you will find a great selection of cask ales alongside c***rs from a range of breweries and c***ries with up to date listings on our app. 🍻

It makes a brilliant final stop on our trip around town! ✨

Next up on our Tamworth pub tour was a true step back in time at the Moat House! 🏰🍺

Located on Lichfield Street along the banks of the River Tame, this magnificent Grade II* listed Tudor mansion is just a short 5-10 minute stroll from the town centre. Built in 1572 by the Comberford family, it has hosted royalty over the centuries, and even welcomed The Beatles back in 1963!

On approach, the grand red-brick facade, five stepped gables, and tall chimneys set a dramatic scene. Inside, we were greeted with high timber-beamed ceilings, grand stone fireplaces, grandfather clocks and book-lined oak panelling. Being featured on CAMRA's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors, it is recognised as a rare gem of architectural heritage. Outside, there is a spacious b**r garden lit up with colourful festoon lights and a historic summer house.

At the bar, ale lovers are well looked after with a solid line-up, including our personal favourite, Titanic Brewery Plum Porter, which is always available! You can easily check what's on using the Real Ale Finder app.🍻

Supported by a great team, it is a spectacular venue where history and great b**r come together in the heart of Tamworth! 🏛️✨

Cask Ale Week kicks off today through to Sunday 27th September, and we've refreshed our social media templates to help pubs promote their b**rs.

Next stop on our Tamworth pub tour was the Hop House! 🍺

Located on Market Street, this craft bar brings a stylish, contemporary feel to the local pub scene. Inside, deep forest green walls are paired with relaxed booth seating and even a retro tabletop arcade machine tucked into the corner. There is also a nice spot to sit and people-watch on the paved street outside.

The bar offers two rotating cask ales alongside keg b**rs and c***rs. You can keep track of what's currently pouring by checking their live board via the Real Ale Finder app.🍻

Supported by a friendly team behind the bar, it adds a distinct modern flavour to the town's ale map. Another pub worth visiting! ✨
