What’s your summer vibe this year? And what’s your most realistic summer plan? ☀️

Every year I imagine a peaceful summer with the perfect mix of slow days and little adventures. But somehow things never quite go according to plan (Like last year, when summer started with a fire in our flat…).

This year, I’m aiming for a summer that feels peaceful but still fun. And I think that might actually be realistic this time.

But then again…the most realistic summer plan is probably accepting that plans will change. 😬

Just a little update about our summer schedule.

Hey Dream is a small business run from home, which means things slow down a little during the summer holidays. 😊

✨ Orders placed after 14 June will be processed again starting 24 July.
✨ Reply times may also be a little longer between 29 June and 23 July.

And everything will be back to normal again from 3 August.

Outings with kids are fun… but they definitely become easier with a little preparation. What are your best hacks for making outings smoother?

A few things that always help us:

💧 Water
Everyone gets tired and grumpy when thirsty, both kids and adults. 😬 Bring water for everyone, especially during summer!

🍎 Snacks
Snacks solve a surprising amount of problems. Bring a few different kinds, because preferences seem to change every hour in our household… And don’t forget snacks for yourself too!

🚿 Wet Wipes
Not just for babies. I still always bring wipes, even though my son is approaching 6 years old. They’re useful for so many things! I personally prefer baby wipes because they’re usually bigger and work for almost anything. But I also always keep a small packet of regular wet wipes, or individually wrapped ones, in my handbag.

✨ Lower your expectations
Probably the most important one! 😄 Things rarely go exactly as planned with kids, and outings usually become much easier once you accept that plans might change along the way.

Why do you need to order now for summer?

Since Hey Dream is a small print-to-order business, everything takes a little time behind the scenes.

First, I need to order the products. After that, I make and print your items here at home, pack everything, and then send the orders out. The processing time is usually around 2-4 weeks.

✨Because of this, the last day to order before our summer break is 14 June.

‼️Orders placed after 14 June will start being processed again from 24 July, which means they’ll most likely be shipped towards the end of July or beginning of August.

I just wanted to explain things a little, since I know not everyone realises how much happens behind the scenes in a small business. 😄

A little peek into what a normal work day looks like lately.

Right now, my days are mostly filled with updating products in the webshop, ordering stock, printing, packing, and trying to keep up with all the little behind the scenes tasks that come with running a small business. 😄

And of course… balancing it with family life.

Some days are chaotic, some are super productive, and some feel like I barely get anything done at all. But it still feels really nice to slowly get back into things again after struggling with low motivation for a long time, and then having that really stubborn cold.
