🌸Who are you?
My name is Nathalie Spanoghe,
a multidisciplinary artist: painter and jewelry designer.
I live in France, in the Berry region.
My work focuses on expressing an inner world—my vision of nature. I develop a visual language based on my relationship with living things, particularly flowers, plants, trees, and minerals. This language is expressed through my paintings and my jewelry.
🌸How would you describe your jewelry collection in a few words?
Colourful, textured and poetic. My jewellery reflects my vision of nature: a space for connecting with the living world through materials drawn from the earth. My pieces feature sinuous lines, much like the curves of a plant. They are talismanic symbols, an ode to life.
🌸What is your creative process?
It all begins with observing my garden, but also minerals. They are an endless source of inspiration with their textures, colors, translucency, and shapes...
I start by selecting the stones, as they are a central element of my jewelry that I want to highlight.
Next, I create sketches of jewelry designs based on a desire for certain shapes, an idea, or a stone. I create flowers, plants, or other imaginary elements that remind me of nature and living things.
I seek out the natural luster of minerals and metal, and the balance of colors and shapes.
🌸How do you make your jewelry?
It all begins with a sketch. I then carry out every stage of the jewellery-making process, from design to completion. Each piece is a unique creation, entirely handmade from 950/1000 and 925/1000 sterling
silver. I carefully select the natural stones, some of which I cut myself. My jewellery is designed as art jewellery. I apply the same attention to lines, light, colours and textures as I do in my paintings.
I devote many hours to the meticulous working of the stone and metal (chiselling, shaping, hammering, polishing, etc.) in order to create pieces that pay homage to nature.
🌸What is your message?
I paint and create jewellery to promote a sense of well-being, drawing energy from the colours, shapes and light that nature offers me. For me, maintaining a respectful relationship with nature is essential.
I aim to convey a soothing energy through my paintings and jewellery.
But I also want to prompt reflection on our connection to the planet, to all living things, and on the need to respect nature and ourselves.
