It’s Dragon Con again! We get to meet the original McGyver today! My theme is Marriott carpet.

Bouquet for this week. Colors are orange and purple. I found some blush-colored carnations for the first time. I added white gerbera daisies to soften the bright colors. Gerbera daisies are seasonal so it is always a treat to see them in the flower shop.

Mending an old sweater with ＪE S S I E C H O R L E Y at Le Manoir aux Écureuils. This is one of several projects I worked on during the last 4 days. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food, wonderful group of people- the best way to enjoy a holiday.

Small and large arrangements- I added some pink gerbera daisies; white roses and purple carnations.

A colorful bouquet for this week. I added zinnias for the first time.

So… ＪE S S I E C H O R L E Y suggested I use seed stitch for the petals of a big sunflower 🌻. I decided to add satin stitches to give the petals a more polished look. After many hours of stitching I am finally done!

I love these dogs. They take me for walks, give me hugs, play with me and remind me that it is bedtime. 🥰🥰🥰

Embroidering on a sweatshirt is a particular challenge because the fabric stretches. I used a hoop to maintain tension while I stitched. I used cotton and metallic threads to embellish a plain beige quarter zip.

Blue cotton twill ribbon ruched into a flower with a fuschia button as the center.

As requested, some swirls inspired by Van Gogh’s starry night.

Three different colors of metallic thread to add some pops of color to a neutral fabric.
