See the after shots to appreciate how far this part of my client’s hallway has changed.

The wooden floorboards were riddled with woodworm, the walls were crumbling and damp, the beams were rotten and painted in this awful black paint which wasn’t in keeping with the rest of the house.

Working with a carpenter who lovingly re-purposed these beautiful old beams sourced from and obviously fantastic builders who worked tirelessly to fix all of the underlying issues before re-building the hallway, this hall is now ready for the next stage. New flooring and a soft neutral shade of incoming. My favourite bit!

This really was a labour of love. And a huge test of patience as the conservation officers made some extremely questionable decisions ie lowering ceilings which removed original ceiling features from view 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ However, the end result is still stunning and the new owners delighted. ❤️❤️❤️

I have worked with a client over a long period of time who is particularly conservative in his style choices. Right at the beginning of a huge renovation he stressed that he has an aversion to colour and pattern, yet slowly but surely I have managed to convince him that, done in the right way, his home will be all the better with both in moderation.

It wasn’t about forcing my taste on him, it was showing him colours and designs available that he might like and seeing what resonated.

I’m just loving working with some truly gorgeous greens at the moment. One hallway with no natural lighting in an old barn, and one south facing living room with loads of light but lacking the coziness needed to relax in the long winter evenings. Both looking gorgeous and ticking all the winter vibes. 💚
