A quiet day of rest doesn't stop my brain thinking about coffee 🧠 🤦♂️. Today I've spent the day thinking about the coffee process and how it ends up in your cup ⬇️.
☕ From seed to cup… there’s a lot more to coffee than roasting.
As a coffee roaster, I actually play quite a small part in a much bigger journey.
Long before the green beans arrive at Roaring Stag, they’ve been planted, nurtured for years, flowered, harvested, processed, dried, sorted and transported — with a huge amount of work and knowledge involved at every stage.
My part comes right near the end. 🔥☕
But to roast coffee well, It’s vital to understand everything that happened before it reached the roaster. Where it was grown, how it was processed, how it was dried and how all of those decisions affect what happens during the roast and ultimately what ends up in your cup.
We might only play a small part in the journey, but understanding the whole journey helps us do our part properly.
