After 10 incredible years, the time has come for me to close the door on this chapter of Bark + Ride.
What a wild ride it has been.
From a wee idea born from my love of Lewis, the Springer Spaniel who changed my world of mountain biking, to a Scottish female textile designer determined to make the outdoor dog apparel industry think differently about how we adventure with our dogs, Bark + Ride grew into something I could never have imagined.
We designed and created products of our own, from the Lewis Adventure Harness, named after the very dog who started it all, to the Harris Dog Sleeping Bag — products born from real adventures, real dogs and a genuine need for something different.
We met thousands of incredible people and dogs, travelled to amazing events and held our own alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
I will forever be incredibly proud of what Bark + Ride became and of the wee black and white Springer Spaniel who unknowingly started the whole adventure who has now passed on to his adventures in the sky. 🖤🐾
Sadly, my own circumstances have led us down a different path and, for now, we have had to cease trading.
But this may not be the end of Bark + Ride.
The brand is still there for the taking if the right person or business comes along to give it its next chapter.
To every customer, dog, ambassador, stockist, supplier, friend and supporter who has been part of this journey, thank you.
Thank you for believing in a small independent Scottish brand. Thank you for choosing us, recommending us, wearing our kit, bringing your dogs to see us and helping us challenge the big players out there.
We are forever grateful for every opportunity we’ve had.
