☀️ Top Tips for Having a Baby in the Summer
Use a fan (not pointed directly at the baby) to keep the room breezy and cool.
1. Keep Baby Cool

Dress your baby in light, breathable fabrics like cotton.

Avoid overdressing — one layer is usually enough.

Use a fan (not pointed directly at baby) to keep the room breezy and cool.

2. Stay Hydrated

Breastfed babies may feed more often to stay hydrated.

Bottle-fed babies may need extra cooled, boiled water between feeds (check with your health visitor).

3. Protect from the Sun

Babies under 6 months should be kept out of direct sunlight.

Use a sunshade or umbrella over the pram.

Dress your baby in a wide-brimmed hat and loose long sleeves for extra protection.

Johanne Jefferson- Truths, half truths, and little white lies; what do you say when you are pregnant and job hunting?

In 2014 my husband and I decided to relocate from Edinburgh to Northern Ireland. It took us a lot longer than expected to sell our house and one year later, just as we accepted an offer, I found out I was pregnant. I was applying for jobs but didn't get very far. I think having a Scottish address may have put people off even though my move was imminent.
That meant I was about 20 weeks pregnant by the time I was getting interviews. If you didn't know me I just looked like I could do with laying off the doughnuts, so that left me with the big decision; truths, half truths or little white lies?...
