CAN YOU GUESS OUR OCTOBER INSPIRATION DESIGNER?
I’m not giving this one away just yet… but I thought I’d drop a few clues and see if any of you can work it out!

✨ I’ve known our October designer for many years and we’ve worked together in the past.

✨ They are an absolutely AMAZING teacher — one of those people who has a real gift for making a technique feel achievable.

✨ They are a published jewellery designer whose work has appeared in jewellery-making magazines around the world.

✨ They’ve won awards for their work.

✨ They are world-renowned for the particular jewellery-making technique they specialise in, and have spent years sharing their knowledge and inspiring other makers.

And I am SO excited that they are our October Relax n Craft Inspiration Designer.
Any guesses who it might be?
I’ll give you another clue soon… but for now, pop your guesses below! ⬇️

First prototype made, I am going to see how this patent leather holds up to being a journal cover but so far I love it. I will make the red one next.

You probably don’t need another subscription.
There. I said it. 😂
But maybe you DO need something that makes you stop once a month.
Something that gets you away from a screen.
Something that teaches you a new skill.
Something that gets your hands making again.

Something that connects you with other people who understand why a particularly beautiful gemstone can make you ridiculously happy.
And something that reminds you that your time matters too.

That’s what I want Relax n Craft to be.
Not just a box of jewellery-making supplies.
A reason to make time for yourself.
And if a beautiful piece of jewellery happens at the end of it?
Even better. ❤️

Imagine you’ve had one of THOSE weeks…

Then a parcel arrives.

You open it and inside are beautiful gemstones, findings and materials chosen for you.

Immediately your brain starts wondering what you’re going to make.

That little feeling of “Ooooh…” is something I never want to lose from Relax n Craft.

Yes, it’s a jewellery-making subscription box.

But I want it to be something else too.

Something you genuinely look forward to arriving.

A little reminder every month that there is some time in there that belongs to YOU.

Ooh, THAT looks nice.
That’s one of my favourite things about jewellery making.
For a little while, your hands are busy and your attention is somewhere completely different.

That's why the word Relax has always been just as important to me as the word Craft

It isn't only about what we make.

It’s about how making makes us feel.

STOP ANNOYING THE JEWELLERY GODS! ⚡️😂

Today’s jewellery-making crime against the gods…

Using round-nose pliers to open and close your jump rings. 😳

I know they’re there.
I know they look useful.
And yes, technically they will grip the jump ring…

But should they?

Absolutely not. 😂

Round-nose pliers have a very important job – they’re designed for forming loops and curves in wire.

When you’re opening and closing jump rings, use the correct tools for the job – chain-nose, flat-nose or bent-nose pliers.

Different pliers. Different jobs.

So before the jewellery gods strike you down… ⚡️

Put those round-nose pliers back where they belong! 😂

Can we get rid of this idea that you have to magically KNOW how to make beautiful things?
You don’t.
Creativity can be taught, encouraged and practised.
You can follow my tutorial exactly.
You can change one tiny thing.
And eventually you start thinking…

"Ooh… what if I did THIS instead?”
That’s the bit I love.

Relax n Craft isn't about me telling you what you SHOULD make.
It’s about giving you the skills, materials and confidence to discover what YOU want to make.
Where would you put yourself: complete beginner, confident maker or somewhere in between?
