Folks! It's time for some much needed chill, good food, wine, relaxation and good company, and l'm going on my holibobs for a week with Trigger.
Spending time with old friends, and making new ones in Cumbria and Scotland.

🛋️ BEFORE & AFTER: A DRAMATIC SOFA GLOW-UP! 🛋️

Talk about a statement piece! We’ve just wrapped up this stunning transformation right here in Dorset, and we are absolutely in love with the result.

📜 The Before
This classic camelback sofa came to us wearing a tired, traditional beige fleur-de-lis fabric. It had brilliant structure but the fabric was feeling a bit dated and ready for a fresh chapter.

❤️ The After
Reimagined in the striking red Austen stripe fabric from Foy & Co!

Aligning bold stripes along the sweeping curves of a camelback frame takes precision and patience, but the payoff is incredible. The vibrant red stripe highlights every classic line of the sofa, turning a muted piece into a bold, elegant centerpiece for the room.

✨ From 1980s drab to boho fab! ✨

​Remember Myrtle? 💙

​She’s not just any chair; she’s an old friend. This lovely Parker Knoll Froxfield has shared countless late nights, quiet mornings, glasses of wine, and bursts of laughter with her owner. But after decades of loyal service, her original 1980s fabric was feeling a little tired.

​She was well overdue for a pamper session, and oh boy, did she get one! 😍
​The ultimate glow-up is officially complete:
​The Fabric: Stripped back and reupholstered in a stunning, vibrant blue boho-chic fabric that absolutely pops.
​The Wood: The gorgeous frame has been lovingly stripped down and finished with a clear matt varnish to show off that beautiful, natural grain.

​The History: Some things are too precious to lose. We've preserved her heritage by keeping the original seat with its maker's label, as well as the original stamped Parker Knoll name in the wood and her date stamp: "Mr Perfect 1982"! 🥹

​Myrtle is looking refreshed, modern, and utterly gorgeous—ready to head back home for many more years of cosy nights and glasses of wine. 🍷✨

☀️🍷🍨 What a week! Started with a bang, and ending with sunshine, red wine, and a very well-deserved ice cream!
​After spending the last few days working in a seriously hot upholstery studio, sitting down with a cold treat and a glass of red feels absolute heaven. 😎👇
​Here is a little peek at what’s been keeping us sweating and smiling this week:

​Meet Myrtle! 🌸 We are nearly finished bringing this gorgeous Froxfield Parker Knoll chair back to life. She is looking absolutely stunning.

​The Next Big Project: We've just started stripping down a beautiful camal-back sofa, getting it completely prepped and ready for recovering next week.

​A "Few" Other Bits... Just for Starters! In coming!!!!🛋️

​Curtain alterations that were a massive 3 meters wide each.

​A much-loved classic wingback chair getting some TLC.

​A full fit-out for a boat interior (perfect weather for it!).
​A set of custom loose covers.

​...and a beautifully covered rocking chair!

​Every single client has made some absolutely impeccable fabric choices for these pieces. I cannot wait to show you the textures and patterns we’re working with, but more on that later! 😉

✨ From Dated to Dazzling! ✨

Take a look at this stunning transformation! We recently had the absolute pleasure of giving a pair of tired, light blue chairs a completely fresh lease of life right here in Dorset.

Our customer had a fantastic eye for design and supplied their own fabric for this project—the gorgeous iLiv Boho Begonia. The bold, vibrant pattern and rich pink and orange tones have completely transformed these from simple dining seats into show-stopping statement occasional chairs.

🛋️ The Makeover Details:
The Before: A dated, faded light blue fabric.

The After: Stripped back, fully reupholstered, and expertly pattern-matched to let that incredible bohemian print take center stage.

The Fabric: Customer’s own choice – iLiv Boho Begonia.

Whether they’re brightening up a bedroom corner or adding a pop of personality to the living room, these two are definitely going to be a talking point.

🛋️✨ MEET MYRTLE: THE ULTIMATE GLOW-UP STORY! ✨🛋️

Meet Myrtle. She’s not just a retro classic Froxfield Parker Knoll chair; she’s an absolute legend. 👑

For years, Myrtle has been the ultimate solid companion. She’s been there through thick and thin—witnessing late-night movie marathons, endless cups of tea, deep chats, and probably a few sneaky afternoon naps. She’s held space for it all, sturdy and reliable as always.

But even the classics deserve a little TLC. After years of loyal service, Myrtle is officially entering her Glow-Up Era! 💅✨

She’s currently getting a complete revamp to match her next big adventure. Fresh fabric, new vibes, and a total makeover are underway to get her looking her absolute best. Why? Because a queen like Myrtle deserves nothing less for her brand-new flat! 🏢🥂

🪆 A Peek Into the Past: Victorian Child's Chair Restoration

There is something incredibly special about a piece of furniture that has witnessed generations of family history. This lovely little Victorian child's chair has just arrived in our Dorset workshop, and she is about to undergo a complete, sympathetic transformation. 🪵⏳

Before we begin stripping her back, we wanted to share a look at her exactly like this.

On the outside, you can see the beautifully faded, worn fabric that tells a story of decades of love and use. But the real magic lies just beneath the surface. Peeking out underneath is a traditional layer of authentic horsehair stuffing—the absolute hallmark of true antique upholstery craftsmanship.

Taking this precious piece apart is going to be a highly meticulous job. Over the last century or more, this little chair has been recovered so many times that the timber frame is completely riddled with old tack holes! 🔨

To ensure the wood is structurally sound, sturdy, and ready for its next chapter, we will be spending some serious time preparing the frame. We’ll be filling every single historic hole using a traditional mix of fine sawdust and glue paste before we even think about starting the rebuild. 🪡🗜️

It’s a true labour of love, but preserving these pieces of social history and heritage furniture so they can be passed down to the next generation is exactly why we do what we do.
