My favourite part of running The Velvet Ribbon Wrapping Company?

It's meeting people who say..."I'm hopeless at wrapping!"

Usually followed by..."I wish I'd known about you sooner!"

The truth is, we're all good at different things.

Some people can bake beautiful cakes.
Some can fix cars.
Some can grow prize-winning tomatoes.

Me?

I get ridiculously excited about crisp folds, luxurious ribbon and making gifts look as though they belong in a boutique window!

So if gift wrapping isn't your thing, that's absolutely fine.

Hand it over to me and receive it back looking beautifully finished.

Sometimes outsourcing isn't an extravagance, it's common sense... wrapped with a bow. 🎀

Here's a gift wrapping tip you might not know...

If you're using tissue paper inside a gift bag, don't squash it into a tight ball.

Instead, gently pinch it in the middle and let it fall naturally.

It instantly looks fuller, softer and far more elegant.

It's one of those tiny details that makes all the difference.

I absolutely love those little finishing touches.

The perfectly matched ribbon.
A handwritten gift tag.
Beautiful folds.
The final fluff of tissue paper.

They're small things...

But together they create something that feels really special.

One of the biggest things people say to me is...
"I'd love to have my gifts professionally wrapped, but I thought it would be really expensive."

Confession time...

I can't walk past beautiful wrapping paper without stopping to admire it.

Yes, I know... some people admire cars or handbags, (and I do that too) but I admire ribbons, luxurious paper and perfectly tied bows!

But here's the thing... gift wrapping has never just been about making something look pretty.

It's about creating a moment.

That little pause before someone opens a present.
The excitement.
The smile.
The feeling that someone has really thought about them.

That's why I love what I do.

Whether it's a birthday, a thank you, a new baby or "just because", every gift deserves to feel special before it's even opened.

Luxury doesn't always have to mean expensive.

Sometimes it's simply taking the ordinary and making it feel unforgettable.

Although I do love hearing that!

It's when someone says...

That makes me smile every single time.

One thing I've learnt...

People often tell me they feel guilty asking someone else to wrap their gifts.

Please don't!

We happily pay someone to cut our hair.
Service our car.
Clean our windows.
Bake a celebration cake.

Why?

Because they do it better, quicker and save us time.

Professional gift wrapping is no different.

My job is to take something off your plate and return it looking beautiful.

No stress.
No wrestling with sticky tape.
No wondering why the ribbon looked so much easier in the YouTube video! 😄

Just one less thing for you to think about.

Not every gift I wrap is for a birthday.

Some are thank you gifts from businesses.
Some are prizes for competitions.
Some are welcome gifts for new clients.
Some are gifts for hardworking staff.

And I absolutely love being trusted with them.

Because when someone receives a beautifully wrapped gift from your business, they're not just opening a present.

"I'd love to have my gifts wrapped professionally... but I bet it's expensive."

Can I let you in on a little secret?

Most people are pleasantly surprised when they find out how affordable it actually is.

By the time you've bought quality wrapping paper, ribbon, gift tags, tissue paper (and perhaps a second roll because the first one didn't quite survive! 😂), you're often spending more than you realised.

Then there's the time.

I'd much rather you spent that time enjoying a coffee with a friend, taking the dog for a walk, or simply putting your feet up.

Luxury doesn't always mean spending more.

Sometimes luxury is simply making life easier.

Confession time...

One of my favourite moments isn't actually wrapping the gift.

It's tying the very last ribbon.

There's something satisfying about stepping back and seeing something that makes people smile before they've even opened it.

I often wonder where each gift is heading...

A birthday surprise.
A thank you.
A new baby.
A retirement.
A "just because" gift.

Every gift has a story, and I feel incredibly lucky to play a small part in it.

So if you're ever wondering whether it's worth having your gifts professionally wrapped, I'd say this...

You're not just paying for paper and ribbon.

You're giving yourself time, removing one more thing from your to-do list, and creating a memorable first impression.
