What a fun day today at the fabulous Whinney Hill Kennels 25th birthday Pawty & the weather was just perfect ☀️

Kenzie entered her first dog show & won 3rd place in the best rescue dog class.

We also won a few prizes in the charity raffle so came home with quite a few prizes.

It was also the first time Kenzie came face to face with a dinosaur that she really wasn’t too sure about .😂

Thank you to Elaine & all the staff for organising the day & hope you have raised a great amount for the chosen charities ❤️🐶🐾

⚖️ THREE TEENAGERS ADMIT ASSAULTING SEARCH AND RESCUE VOLUNTEER

Three teenagers, two boys and a girl, have admitted assaulting a search and rescue volunteer.

Appearing at Newtownards Youth Court on Tuesday, the defendants, two 13-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl, had the charges put to them.

While the two boys admitted assaulting Ryan Gray, occasioning him actual bodily harm, the girl entered a guilty plea to common assault.

All three denied causing an affray on Bangor High Street on 27 March this year.

During a review of the case, defence lawyers for the three confirmed that while the affray charge was being contested, there would be no requirement for witnesses to be called.

Instead, the case would rely on “around ten minutes of footage” for the court to watch and make an adjudication.

It is understood that Mr Gray, the founder and a volunteer at K9 Search and Rescue, was walking with his dog Max along the High Street in Bangor when he was attacked by a crowd of young people.

The war veteran told local media that he sustained injuries including a broken tooth, broken nose, bruised eyes and whiplash-type injuries as a result of the incident.

A fourth defendant, a 15-year-old boy who faces similar charges, was not in attendance in court on Tuesday.

As a result of applications from the defence and prosecution, District Judge Amanda Brady adjourned all of the cases to 27 October.

The fabulous Whinney Hill Kennels 25th Birthday Pawdy & Harvest Walk 🐶🎉🎈

This fun filled day is for all dog owners and their families with so many activities, stalls, music etc lined up.

WHK will be hosting a fun dog show at the Pawdy… so get to grooming your Loveliest Ladies and Fabulous Fellas! 🐶🐾

Classes start at 12:00pm
£2 entry fee per class
Entries taken at the WHK stand

Who will you be bringing to try and claim ultimate bragging rights!? 🏆

There will be a suggested entrance donation of £10 per car (all for great causes) and some of the kids activities will have a nominal charge.

There will be 4 guided Harvest walks around the farm leaving at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm & 2.30pm.

A little reminder that there are so many wonderful puppies and adult dogs waiting for homes in local rescues.Coming with health checks, vaccinations, microchips and ongoing support from the rescue.

Rescues are currently bursting at the seams, and there really is a dog out there to suit almost every home and lifestyle. ❤️

If you’re considering bringing a dog into your family, always choose one that is suitable for your lifestyle, personality, experience and ability to meet their needs.

🐾 BUT If you decide to buy a puppy you normally pay a deposit, DO NOT PAY IN CASH.

Use a bank transfer so there is a clear record of where your money has gone. Keep a record of the bank details you paid into, including the name on the account, and check that the details match before making the payment.

PayPal Goods & Services can also be used where appropriate — NOT Friends & Family.

Before sending any money, make sure you keep evidence of the transaction and save screenshots/copies of:

• The puppy’s original advert/listing
• Photos of the puppy
• The seller’s name and contact details
• Messages discussing the puppy’s age, breed, health, vaccinations, registration etc.
• Any promises or assurances made by the breeder/seller
• The agreed price and exactly what it includes
• Collection or delivery arrangements - not in Car Parks!
• Any written contract or agreement, including the “Puppy Contract” where applicable

⚠️ DO NOT use PayPal “Friends & Family”for a puppy purchase.
Personal payments generally do not come with PayPal’s Buyer Protection. Where a purchase is eligible, Goods & Services is the appropriate payment option.

Most importantly, never let someone pressure you into sending money quickly.

If a seller refuses a traceable payment method and insists on cash, or refuses an appropriate Paypal Goods & Services payment where applicable, consider it a red flag 🚩 and walk away.
