My first attempt at making a ribbon bookmark! 🌿📖

I had so much fun putting this together, but I ran into a bit of a dilemma with the length. I initially cut the ribbon to 35cm, but ended up trimming it down. I’d love to know what the standard is among other book lovers and makers.🤔 How long do you usually make yours?
Also, how do you prefer to display it? Do you hang the decorative charms over the spine so they peek out on your bookshelf, or do you let them drape beautifully across the front cover?

My new kit is finally ready!🔮

A few weeks ago, I asked you all what theme you wanted to see next for my new journal kits, and the answer was a resounding, beautiful: Gothic & Witchy. 🕸️🦇

Photographing all these rich, deep black textures to show you how stunning they are in person was quite the challenge, but I am obsessed with how this collection turned out. It is overflowing with dark academia, witchy whimsy, and magical tactile goodness.

Each kit contains
✨ 8 Handmade, Fully Distressed Ephemera Pieces
✨ 30-Piece Embellishments & Charm Set
✨ A Premium Variety of textured fabrics & lace trims

Check out my Etsy shop for more information. 🥰

I haven’t been able to go thrifting in over a month... so I certainly made up for lost time this week! 🫣🛍️

I ended up bringing home my biggest jewellery thrift haul to date after hunting across multiple shops. When I'm out thrifting, I'm always looking for pieces with lots of unique dangles, chunky charms, and interesting brooches that I can take apart to use on my journal spines and ephemera.
A lot of these pieces are also going toward a massive restock for my new Vintage Mystery Scoops on Etsy! They have been so incredibly popular this past month (thank you all so much!) and I can’t wait to pack your upcoming orders with these beautiful, unique charms.

Tell me—when you go thrifting, are you a disciplined shopper or do you make up for lost time like me? Let me know in the comments! 👇

🌿 Oops, I did it again… 😅

Following on from yesterday’s post, I’m using those vintage stamped labels and numbers to create some pretty botanical specimen cards!
I absolutely love making these. As you can see in the video, I got a little carried away and slightly overcommitted on the quantity! (No regrets though—I’ll just save the extras for future journals).
For this batch, I opted for pressed leaves, but you can use almost anything—butterflies, bugs, flowers, you name it!
I hope you enjoy watching the process, and hopefully it inspires you to create your own🥰

Today was the day the creative urge finally overtook the thought!

I decided it was time to dust off all my stamps, stencils, and inks that have been stored away for far too long (we all have that stash, right? 🫣). I set out to create some botanical specimen cards. To build up the layers, I first needed to make some custom labels, vintage tags, and grungy numbers from scratch. There is nothing more satisfying than distressing clean paper! 🌿

Watch out for Part 2 to see exactly how I use these pieces in my specimen cards and handmade ephemera.
