Love Belper does fantastic work celebrating everything that makes Belper unique, and its work goes a long way towards ensuring we don’t lose these qualities.

Belper’s high street is excellent. King Street has won multiple awards for being the best high street in the entire country, and was ranked in the top three this year.

Yet, across the country high streets are dying. Online retailers have continuously lowered costs, as they have lower operating costs compared to brick and mortar shops. Bigger chains have been pulling out of high streets, leaving shopfronts empty or sometimes replaced by less desirable shops like v**e shops.

That’s why the work Love Belper does promoting Belper’s high street is so important. They help raise awareness of the different shops and events in the town centre, to generate more visits.

Love Belper has organised a festival celebrating 250 years of Belper on Sunday 26th July. There will be music, dancing, theatre, crafts, and food available for people to enjoy. If you want to read more about the festival, read here: https://www.lovebelpercic.co.uk/about-1

I look forward to attending and seeing some of you there as well.

Time we introduced ourselves!
Say hello to our directors, you may recognise our faces 😂✨ Steph from , Ali from and Susie (me 👋) from ✨
We’re three women who are independent Belper business owners who share a passion for celebrating our town, community and high street!
Alongside running our own businesses and Love Belper, we’ve been working behind the scenes to bring this festival to life with the help and support of other local businesses, creatives, volunteers and community members who have contributed such a lot!
We’re incredibly proud to be creating something rooted in community, creativity and local spirit, and celebrating our High Street ✨

The Love Belper Town Festival is a celebration of the town we call home; it’s creativity, history, independent spirit and the people who make it so special.

Created and organised by the team behind Love Belper, the festival was born from a simple idea: to bring the community together and celebrate everything that makes Belper unique in a vibrant, quirky and historical way.

Across the festival, visitors can expect a lively mix of food, drink, music, entertainment, shopping artisan stalls, craft demonstrations and historical touches inspired by Belper’s rich heritage. From traditional performances to local makers and independent businesses, the festival aims to capture the warmth, character and creativity woven throughout the town.

This year feels especially meaningful as Belper celebrates 250 years of the mills…a reminder of the towns incredible history, craftsmanship and enduring community spirit. With elements inspired by Belper’s past alongside modern independent culture, the festival hopes to honour both heritage and future creativity alike.

The festival stretches throughout the heart of Belper, including Market Place King Street, the Memorial Gardens, Campbell Street and Strutt Street, creating a vibrant trail of experiences for visitors to enjoy.

At its heart, the Love Belper Town Festival is about community, connection and championing independent local businesses, artists, makers, performers and creatives. It is a chance to experience Belper at its most joyful, full of life, storytelling, music, creativity, history and celebration.

We are so excited to welcome you to the very first Love Belper Festival, and we hope it becomes something truly special for the town in years to come!

Our vendors will be revealing themselves this week!
