One thing is for certain…
BELPER SHOWS UP! ❤️
What an absolutely incredible day. From the moment the festival began, the streets were absolutely buzzing with people celebrating everything that makes our town so special. Seeing Belper filled with laughter, music, shopping, eating, dancing and community spirit was something we’ll never forget!
The Love Belper Festival was organised completely independently by local volunteers and business owners, simply because we believe Belper deserves to be celebrated, especially this year of all years! Every meeting, every email, every late night and every early morning was driven by one goal, and that’s to shine a spotlight on this amazing town and the incredible independent businesses that make it unique and alive. Every permit, license, application, artwork, branding EVERYTHING was done by people who simply love Belper.
People often don’t realise just how important days like this are for small businesses. For many independent businesses, one fantastic trading day can make a real difference to an entire month’s takings. Every coffee bought, every gift purchased, every meal enjoyed and every market stall and shop visited helps keep our wonderful high street thriving.
To everyone who came along, whether you stayed all day or just popped into town for an hour, we simply want to say THANK YOU. By choosing to spend your time in Belper, you supported local people, local families and local businesses.
A huge thank you goes to our incredible volunteers and stewards, who gave up their own time to help everything run so smoothly. You were the friendly faces welcoming visitors, keeping everyone safe and making sure the day was enjoyable for all.
Thank you to every performer, musician, entertainer, workshop leader, exhibitor, market trader, sponsor, community group, venue and business who helped bring the festival to life. It truly was a town wide effort, and the community spirit really shone throughout the day. A special thanks goes out to Matt and his crew from Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts, he says he played a very small role but we can assure you, the festival wouldn’t have happened without them!
And finally, thank you to Belper.
You continue to prove that when a community comes together, incredible things can happen. The support, enthusiasm and pride shown throughout the day was overwhelming, and we’re so proud to call this wonderful town home. We’re proud for our businesses to call Belper home.
Here’s to celebrating Belper, and here’s to hopefully doing it all again. ❤️ we’ll be releasing ways to support future festivals and the Love Belper initiative soon, as the event was only made possible by donations, grants, sponsors and our amazing vendors. We’d love to do it all again, but we may need your help! But for now, keep shopping, visiting, supporting….and LOVING Belper!!!
