Bioceramic obturators and repairers both leverage the bioactive properties of bioceramics, but they are tailored for different applications within endodontics.

Obturators such as Angelus Bio-C Sealer focus on sealing the entire root canal system, while repairers such as Angelus Bio-C Repair are specialized for addressing specific defects and surgical needs. These could be perforations, resorptions, pulp capping, apexification, apexigenesis and pulpotomy.

Both types of materials are valued for their ability to enhance sealing and promote biological integration.

An inadequate obturator can lead to recurrent infections, while a poorly applied repairer can result in failures in tissue regeneration.

A study compared the effect of three obturation cement activation techniques on the percentage and depth of pe*******on of MTA-Fillapex and Competitor A. The greater the depth of the obturation cement within the dentinal tubules, the greater the chance of successful treatment, since there are fewer gaps and voids, making it impossible for bacteria to survive. MTA-Fillapex showed a better percentage and depth of pe*******on into the root dentinal tubules than Competitor A.

Ultrasonic activation is the most effective technique for enhancing the pe*******on of MTA Fillapex sealer into dentinal tubules, significantly outperforming other methods like Lentulo spiral and counter-clockwise rotary motion. This suggests that ultrasonic activation should be considered the preferred method for optimal sealer pe*******on.
