Did you know gemstones can look completely different depending on the light?

Why we check every stone in daylight...

Our Bangkok office faces north on purpose. North-facing light is indirect - it never gets hit by direct sun, only the sky's reflected light, which stays even and neutral from morning through afternoon.

South-facing windows get strong direct sun that washes out true colour. East and west light shifts constantly - warm and low at sunrise or sunset, harsh by midday - so the same stone can look different hour to hour.

North light is the one constant. That's why it's been the trade standard for generations.

Colour in a gemstone is rarely perfectly even. Zoning, patches of weaker saturation, areas that don't quite match the rest of the stone - all of it can hide under warm bulbs, LEDs, or shifting sunlight. It only shows itself in true, consistent daylight. That's why we won't judge a stone under anything else.

Before you buy: ask to see the stone in natural light, or under daylight-balanced lamps. If the colour holds evenly across the whole piece, you're seeing it as it really is.

We keep getting asked the same question: are your gemstones certificated? 💎

Every certificated stone we stock comes with a story of its own - from where it was formed to how it found its way into one of our designs.

Here's a closer look at three of our current pieces, and the origins behind them:
Emerald cluster - sourced from Zambia
Ruby three-stone - sourced from Burma
Sapphire three-stone - sourced from Madagascar

Each stone is certified confirming it's origin, so you can be confident in exactly what you're buying - provenance, quality and all.

Curious about a certificated piece of your own? Pop into the shop or book an appointment - we're always happy to talk gemstones.

August has arrived ☀️

Long days, warm light, and jewellery that does exactly what it should - catch the sun.

Meet one of our latest Signature pieces: a 2.78ct Madagascan blue sapphire, flanked by heart-shaped diamonds, set in yellow gold. Certificated, and honestly, it speaks for itself.

Madagascan sapphires are known for their vivid, electric blue - and in this light? You can see exactly why.

Some combinations just work ✨

A cushion cut mint tourmaline - cool, rare, and distinctive - paired with two trapeze cut diamonds in a classic trilogy setting.

Yellow gold claws cradle the tourmaline; platinum holds the diamonds. Two metals, one ring, zero compromises.

This is what happens when you stop settling for ordinary.

One year married 💍

A huge congratulations to Pete & Indu on their first wedding anniversary!

It’s been a year since they said “I do,” and we’re still so honoured to have played a small part in their journey, from creating their rings to seeing them worn on such a special day.

Wishing you both continued love, laughter, and many more beautiful years ahead 🤍
