The James Brindley Foundation

The James Brindley Foundation We are The James Brindley Foundation. Formed in 2018, following the murder of James Brindley on 23rd June 2017.

We've teamed up with Run for Charity, giving YOU a brand-new way to back the work we do every day - preventing serious youth violence and helping build safer communities.

Run for Charity is the UK's largest platform for charity events, so there's something for everyone, not just marathon runners. They also do family fun days, inflatable runs, colour runs, swimathons and cycling events, alongside the classic 5Ks and half marathons.

Calling all professionals! πŸ“’

Parents and carers get plenty of support when their children are young. But what about the teenage years?

Today's young people face growing pressures - social media, peer influence, exploitation, violence, and online harms.

Yet many parents and carers tell us they feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure where to turn for practical support.

That's why we're launching Raising Resilient Teens, and we'd love you to be there.

πŸ—“οΈ18th August 2026 | Official Launch

Join us for a series of interactive activities showing how the programme equips parents and carers with the confidence, knowledge, and practical tools to better support the young people in their care.

🟠 Experience activities from the programme
🟠 Discover a new (and different!) early intervention resource
🟠 Network with professionals across the West Midlands
🟠 Lunch and refreshments provided

This isn't another parenting programme. Raising Resilient Teens is different.

🎟️ Free tickets are limited - grab yours here: https://raising-resilient-teens.raiselysite.com/

After such a fantastic evening on Friday, we eventually had to ask Lee to put his quiz master mic down and get back to the day jobs! 🎀

Speaking of great moments, hear from Cameron, one of the latest to join our growing community of Full Circle Practitioners, as he shares his experience of the Full Circle Programme, delivered by our very own Training Manager.

Wow, what a fantastic evening! Thank you to everyone who came along to support our quiz night, together we raised Β£700! πŸ™Œ

A huge well done to our winners, 'The Village Idiots', who generously donated their winnings straight back to the charity. 🫢

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to our amazing sponsors and supporters:

πŸ‘‰ASC Bar at Aldridge Social for hosting us!
πŸ‘‰ Ignite Fires & Fireplaces (Nantwich) for donating our star prize - a big egg BBQ and grill
πŸ‘‰ Say Yes To Yoga for the yoga vouchers and class passes
πŸ‘‰ Lillie Grace Beautician for the beauty vouchers
πŸ‘‰ Charlotte at Kings Fleet Services for the wine and the rubber ring (which went down a treat!)
πŸ‘‰ Anna Brook for donating a variety of brilliant prizes and for her consistent support!

And last but certainly not least, a huge shoutout to our very own JBF team. Not only do you work tirelessly every day supporting young people across the West Midlands and training professionals, but you also pulled off a cracking evening for everyone to enjoy. Well done, all! πŸ’ͺ

The month of July has been Bereaved Parents Month. πŸ’›

A time to hold space for those carrying one of life's heaviest losses. Losing a child leaves a mark that time doesn't erase - grief doesn't follow a particular schedule or move through neat stages. It shifts, quiets, and resurfaces when you least expect it. What changes isn't the love, or the loss. It's the strength you grow to carry both.

Nine years on, and we still carry you with us every day, James. πŸ’›πŸ•―οΈ

"Thanks for making a difference to our students' lives…"

That's the kind of feedback our workshops and programmes get, and it's why we keep doing this work.

Urban Aid is one of several programmes our team delivers to schools, alternative provisions and youth groups across the West Midlands, giving young people the knowledge, confidence and practical, life-saving skills to look out for themselves and each other.

These sessions also help fund and strengthen the wider work of the James Brindley Foundation.

Doing more. Educating more. Giving back to our community. πŸ’ͺ

Fully funded spaces are available for youth groups during the summer, but they're in high demand, so get in touch now to book your slot.
