❤️ A celebration of our incredible foster carers ❤️

What better way to celebrate the people who make such an incredible difference to children and young people than by bringing everyone together for a special day at Blackpool Winter Gardens?

We were delighted to celebrate the amazing foster carers who have joined Foster with us since we started in 2024, with carers joining us from Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire, Blackpool, Cumberland and Westmorland and Furness.

This celebration was about recognising something incredibly important: our foster carers.

Every day, foster carers open their homes, their hearts and their lives to children and young people who need care, stability, understanding and support. They offer patience when things are difficult, encouragement when it is needed most, and a safe place for children to grow, heal and thrive.

We cannot thank our foster carers enough for everything they do.

The day itself was filled with laughter, fun and some very special moments. There was circus training, children's entertainment from the wonderful Taz, and line dancing with Brian Sandham from R66 Events — giving everyone the chance to let their hair down and enjoy some time together.

One of the most special parts of the day was working with Nathan Parker, the poet and spoken artist behind Parker Words.

Nathan, on Instagram and on Facebook, spent time talking individually with our foster carers, listening to their experiences and hearing what fostering means to them.

He then took those conversations and transformed them into a poem — creating something personal and powerful that captured the voices and experiences of our foster carers.

The poem you hear in this video is the result of that incredibly special process. ❤️

How does a visit to the Lancashire Game & Country Festival sound? 🐴🐶🎣

Taking place this Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th September at Woodacre Lodge Farm in Scorton, the festival is a great day out for all the family, with plenty to see, do and enjoy.

You can expect:

🐴 Horse shows and carriage driving
🐎 Heavy horses
🐕 Gundog displays, scurries and challenges
🦊 Terrier and lurcher racing
🎣 Fly fishing
🎯 Have-a-go clays
🏹 Country sports and rural activities
🎶 Live music and entertainment
🍴 Food, drink and a food theatre
🛍️ Country clothing, crafts, local produce and lots of fantastic exhibitors

A little update that made us smile!🙂

It’s wonderful to see the positive impact fostering can have, especially when a newly approved carer is already helping a child take an important step forward in their journey.

Supporting a child to move from residential care into a family home can be a huge milestone. It’s about providing consistency, encouragement and a safe place where they can feel settled, supported and valued. 🥰

We’re so proud to hear how this foster carer’s journey is going and love hearing about the difference our carers are making every day. 💛

☀️🏃‍♀️ Games, laughter and a little friendly competition! 💚

Our foster family celebration day at in Blackburn was the perfect opportunity to get outside, enjoy the sunshine and have some fun together!

The field was full of energy as foster children, birth children and foster carers joined in with a whole host of games and activities. From bouncing and sliding on the bouncy slide, to some seriously competitive tug of war 💪, there were plenty of opportunities to get involved, have a laugh and make memories together!

It was fantastic to see children playing together, making new connections and enjoying themselves — while foster carers got stuck in too! After all, who says the adults can't have just as much fun? 😄

Days like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of community, connection and celebrating the amazing families who open their homes and hearts to children and young people.

🦙 Meet Nigel! 🦙💚

Our recent foster family celebration day at in Blackburn had a very special group of guests… the llamas! 😍

Foster carers, foster children and birth children had the chance to get up close with these wonderful animals, including the very lovely Nigel! 🦙

Attendees were able to walk the llamas, spend time getting to know them and, of course, give them plenty of fuss and cuddles. There were lots of smiles, plenty of laughter and some very happy llamas along the way! ☀️🌿

Alongside our llama adventures, families enjoyed games in the field, face painting and lunch together — creating a fantastic day to celebrate the amazing foster carers across Blackburn with Darwen and the difference they make to children and young people.

☀️ Celebrating our amazing foster carers in Blackburn with Darwen! 💚

What better way to celebrate the incredible commitment of our foster carers than by bringing foster carers, foster children and birth children together for a day of fun, laughter and connection at 🦙🌿

From games in the sunshine and face painting, to meeting llamas and enjoying lunch together, it was a wonderful opportunity for families to relax, have fun and celebrate everything that foster carers do for children and young people. 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so positive and memorable!
