We’re at St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire Yellow Day this Sunday! 🌟

Come and mix your very own magical story with us from 11am to 1:30pm. A sprinkling of magic dust, a handful of story cards, and you’re set to go! Use our story characters including a beautiful guardian angel, a worried dinosaur, Mr Windy the teacher who couldn’t stop trumping along with a brave superhero to mix up your own fun filled story! Suitable for all primary school age kids, parents and grandparents too. Is all we ask for is a small donation to this brilliant local charity.

There’s lots of family fun going on throughout the entire day including a duck race! 🏊🏻‍♀️🐤🏁

As a mum myself, I created the characters in Magical Story Jars so kids could make up fun stories using all kinds of personalities and emotions. Because the more kind of people kids meet in stories, the more kind of people they understand in real life. 🌈

This June, we’re celebrating what makes every story and every person beautifully unique. ✨💫🌟

If you’re one of our UK followers with an 11 or 12 year old in your family, then SATs week starts tomorrow and there might be a few nerves in your house tonight. I know there are in ours! 💜 Our son is Year 6 and trust us, we know exactly how you feel!

SATs are important. They’re a good chance for our kids to show what they can do. But they’re also just one piece of a much bigger jigsaw, and our kids are so much more than a test result.

This poem by Haydee Waldron-Jones says it better than we could. In the meantime, here are a few quick ‘night before’ tips from our family to yours:

🍝 Good meal
🎒 Pack school bag tonight
🛌 Story, draw or a screen free ‘chill’ then an early night
💜 Big hug
🌅 In the morning help them reframe any nerves as excitement

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Helen Brady, the founder of Little Free Library Lancashire at the brilliant Society1 in Preston. Helen has three free book sharing boxes across Lancashire in Winckley Square, Fishergate Shopping Centre - Preston and outside Hoole St Michael CE Primary School.

We’ve already dropped some story making and mixing ingredients into the Winckley Square library and we’ll be visiting the other two very soon. 💌 ✨📚 In the meantime, go and give Little Free Library Lancashire a follow and help Helen spread the word.
