This is a bit of a re make. The original stick I made had breakout on the stem of the handle and I never liked it so I bit the bullet and re made it. Sadly I couldn't save the original handle but I'm happy with the new one. I'm naming it the redemption stick. 😍

A few weeks ago we can some work experience youngsters in working at Tekne. I worked closely with them to produce these lovely chess boards and pieces. Hopefully I've instilled some inspiration in them to carry on and to go on learning in the trade of joinery and shop fitting. It was my absolute pleasure although hard work 😌.

2 sticks finished this weekend 😍. I love the contrast between walnut and the olive.

Finished off using mr Cornwall's super duper dark oil from Odies Oil UK - 100% natural wood finish the dark oil really helps bring out the dark patina in the grain.

2 stick handles that I've just finished. I've been playing around with different designs where the handle connects to the stick. I've mainly been using a Ferrell at the joint. This will be cool tho. Every one is different. That's what makes these pieces so unique.

The wood is olive and stabilised and dyed maple at the joint

Finally finished my shepherd's crook!! It's been a hell of a challenge. I had to get creative with the shaping of it because I don't own a bobbing sander. So I made my own bobbing for the lathe. Let me know what you all think.

Finished using Odies Oil UK - 100% natural wood finish creative colours on the crock 'up in smoke' and clear super duper oil for the stick part.
