Handmade BoA Our shop is located in the historic market town of Bradford-on-Avon. The shop is run and staffed by the artists and makers who are all volunteers.

Our guest in The Gallery for the month of August is Tina Moreland. Tina is a self-taught coloured pencil artist based in Devizes, specialising in wildlife, pet portraits and botanical art. Inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and flora of Wiltshire, she creates beautifully detailed, lifelike artwork.

After becoming a full-time artist in 2019, Tina has exhibited locally, with her award-winning Barney the Barn Owl becoming one of her best-known pieces. She works mainly on drafting film, allowing her to achieve exceptional colour, texture and fine detail.

Alongside her original artwork, Tina also welcomes commissions for pet portraits, wildlife and botanical subjects. Why not pop in and see for yourself. We are open 10am to 4pm every day - 1 Lamb Yard, Bradford on Avon.

It's the last few days of Jo Slade's guest exhibition in our gallery. Jo's work has been extremely popular, with at least one of her large canvases going to the USA. It has been a joy to have her work on display. Jo is a contemporary landscape and still life painter whose art style is characterised by expressive brushwork, luminous atmospheres, and tactile layers of oil and acrylic paint. Her work focuses primarily on fleeting natural light, intense sunrises, sunsets, and dramatic skies. Come and see it while you have the chance; her exhibition ends on 31st July.

The guest artist in The Gallery this month is Jo Slade. Jo is a landscape and still life painter whose work captures the fleeting beauty of nature, from atmospheric skies and evening light to delicate florals. Beginning with quick sketches made on location or from life, she develops her paintings in the studio using layered oils or acrylics. Her expressive brushwork and use of colour create simplified yet evocative impressions that capture the feeling of a place rather than a literal representation.

Jo graduated in Fine Art (Painting) from Brighton University in 2007 and now works from her studio just outside Bath, where she creates her own work and teaches painting classes.

Jo is with us until the end of July - we are open every day from 10am to 4pm. You can find us at 1 Lamb Yard, Bradford on Avon, where you will find a warm welcome.

🌟 Are You a Maker Looking for a Place to Share Your Work? 🌟

We're looking for a few talented makers to join our wonderful volunteer team at Handmade Bradford on Avon!

If you create beautiful handmade gifts, homewares, textiles, ceramics, woodwork, jewellery, candles, soaps, glass, or other handcrafted treasures, we'd love to hear from you.

As a volunteer maker, you'll spend just 12 hours per month helping in our friendly community shop while also having the opportunity to sell your work alongside that of other local makers.

Handmade is more than a shop – it's a creative community that supports local artists and makers, offers workshops, provides volunteering opportunities, and celebrates the value of handmade craft.

Please note that we are not currently looking for additional 2D artists (painters, illustrators or photographers). We're particularly keen to hear from people making high-quality handmade gifts and crafted objects for our gift shop area.

Handmade Bradford on Avon is pleased to present an exhibition of work by Wiltshire artist Deirdre Elphick throughout the month of June.
Coming from a family of artists, Deirdre has been drawing and painting since childhood. Her work combines expressive colour, intuitive markmaking and a strong connection to the natural world.
This exhibition brings together a selection of still lifes inspired by flowers, alongside
atmospheric monoprints from her Moon Series. Rich in texture and movement,
Deirdre’s work moves between observation and abstraction, capturing both energy and emotion. Deidre's work will be on show until 30th June. 1 Lamb Yard, Bradford-on-Avon, open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm.

A little taste of happiness has arrived in The Gift Shop!

We’re delighted to be featuring the award-winning preserves from the wonderful Somerset Preserving Company alongside the utterly irresistible Meg’s Cottage Fudge.

Our newest delivery includes a zesty Amalfi lemon & ginger marmalade and luxurious chocolate-covered salted fudge — perfect for treating yourself or gifting someone special.

And keeping watch over it all is this charming little mouse, beautifully handcrafted by prize-winning woodturner Kevin Crane, one of 40 artists and makers in our not-for-profit community Gift Shop and Gallery. We are open 7 days a week, from 10am to 4pm, including bank holidays.

It's the last few days of our exhibition of Jan Nesbitt 's beautiful art. Her pictures are an absolute delight, meticulously panted, they depict fairytale like scenes of the natural world. The exhibition ends on 31sr May.
