🐾 A little update to our Rescue Vote! ❤️🌿

I’ve made a small change to how our £20 monthly Rescue Vote prize works — giving winning rescues more choice over what helps them most. 🥰

From now on, when a rescue wins the monthly vote, I’ll contact them via email (unless we’ve arranged another contact method) and they can choose:

💚 £20 GGT store credit — save it up or use it whenever they need it.

📦 OR a £20 bundle of GGT goodies — chosen and sent directly to the rescue!

Different rescues have different needs, so rather than me deciding what’s most useful, they get to choose. ❤️

And remember, the Rescue Vote is only one part of the GGT Rescue Donation Scheme — you can also support participating rescues when you shop by adding a £1–£20 donation to your order, which goes onto that rescue’s store credit to use when they need it. 🌿🐹

🌿 Small batches. A lot of thought. A whole lot of experience. 💚

Every bag at Guinea Gourmet Treats starts long before I actually begin mixing ingredients.

I look at what I want a blend to offer, which ingredients work well together, the different tastes, smells and textures they'll provide, and how they can encourage natural behaviours such as exploring, foraging and enrichment. 🐹🐰

Behind all of that is more than a decade of hands-on rescue experience, particularly with bonding, behaviour and socialisation.

It means I don't look at forage as simply something nice for them to eat.

🌿 Ingredients are chosen with a purpose
🐾 Different textures encourage natural foraging
💚 Blends can support different nutritional and wellbeing needs
🧠 Feeding can become enrichment rather than just another bowl of food

Then it's all made by hand, in small batches, so I stay involved from choosing the ingredients right through to filling your bag.

No conveyor belt.

Just thoughtfully designed forage, proper hands-on experience and an awful lot of botanicals taking over my workspace. 😂🌿

🌼 There's a reason for what's in the bag. 🌿

I'll admit it — I absolutely LOVE a forage mix that looks gorgeous. 😂

All those different leaves, flowers, colours and textures are one of my favourite parts of making them.

But looking pretty isn't enough.

When I create a Guinea Gourmet Treats blend, I'm thinking about the whole thing:

🌿 What does each ingredient bring?

🐾 What different textures, smells and tastes will your animals get to investigate?

🧠 How can it encourage natural foraging and enrichment?

💚 How do the ingredients complement each other nutritionally?

🐹 And, importantly… are the little sods actually going to enjoy eating it? 😂

That approach comes from years spent working hands-on with animals in rescue, particularly around bonding, behaviour and socialisation, combined with the research that now goes into developing GGT products.

Because food isn't just nutrition.

Sniffing, searching, choosing, digging through different textures and finding their favourite pieces are all part of the experience.

So when you open a GGT bag and see a ridiculous mixture of leaves, flowers and textures…

none of it ended up there by accident. 🌿💚

🌿🐹 THIS is why I love what I do. 🐹🌿

I absolutely LOVE getting messages like this. 🥹❤️

These gorgeous little faces are Marigold and Primrose, getting stuck straight into their GGT linden leaves — including the little freebie I popped into their order. Apparently there was absolutely no hesitation. 😂🌿

For me, GGT has never just been about packing a bag of forage, posting it out and moving onto the next order.

These are the real customers. 👆🐹

Seeing what they actually enjoy matters to me. It helps me learn what goes down well, gives me ideas for future products and, most importantly, means I get to see the animals I'm making everything for actually enjoying it.

And messages, photos and videos like these genuinely make my day.

Especially when they come from someone who's supported GGT for a long time. ❤️
