💚🎉 We Are Barnardo’s Week – Day 7! 🎉💚
We’ve reached the end! 🥹💚
What a week it has been!
We wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped make We Are Barnardo’s Week so special here at Brierley Hill.
Of course, the biggest thank you has to go to our incredible team of volunteers. 💚
They are the people who keep our store filled, tidy, organised and ready to deal with whatever curveballs get thrown at us! Whether it’s processing donations, filling the shop floor, helping customers, sorting stock, creating displays or simply getting stuck in wherever they’re needed, they are absolutely brilliant.
We genuinely couldn’t do it without you! 👏
💰 OUR FINAL FUNDRAISING TOTAL: £203.65! 💰
A huge thank you to every customer who has donated, bought a tombola ticket or supported one of our activities this week. You’ve helped us raise an incredible £203.65 for Barnardo’s! 💚
And we can’t forget our smaller customers! 🥰
Thank you to everyone who picked up one of our colouring sheets and created some fantastic artwork for our very own Barnardo’s Brierley Hill Art Gallery. The drawings have genuinely brightened up the store, and we’ve loved seeing all the creativity!

🏢 A Visit From Halesowen!
We were also incredibly lucky to receive a visit this week from Ruth and Tracey from our Halesowen office.
After their visit, they very kindly sent us a lovely message about their experience.
They told us how much they enjoyed seeing everything that happens behind the scenes in retail and how much work goes into keeping a large donation centre and shop running smoothly.
They got to see how donations come in, how they’re sorted and processed, how stock is distributed to other Barnardo’s stores across the West Midlands, and even some of the more unusual things we receive – including toys with missing or broken parts!
Most importantly, they got to meet some of our volunteers and see first-hand just how dedicated and welcoming our team is.
They were particularly struck by the incredible age range of our volunteers – from our youngest volunteer at 14 to our oldest at 83! 💚
They also said they’d love to build more links between our retail and children’s services teams in the future, which we think would be fantastic!
A massive thank you to Ruth and Tracey for coming to visit us, taking the time to learn about what we do and for the lovely feedback. We loved having you! 💚

🌟 And finally… WE ARE BARNARDO’S! 🌟
We also want to celebrate the incredible work that’s been happening across Barnardo’s stores around the country this week.
We’ve loved seeing everyone getting involved, from a bake sale at Newcastle Under Lyme,
to a £1 sale in Wallsend, and so many other brilliant activities happening across the country.
But we have to give a special shout-out to our twinned store in Barnardo's Retail Pontypridd! 💚
Cath and Chris have been creating some absolutely brilliant content throughout the week and are always coming up with fun and creative ways to celebrate their store, their team and Barnardo’s.
We’d definitely recommend giving them a follow and seeing what they’re getting up to! 👀👏
It’s been fantastic to see everyone across Barnardo’s coming together this week to celebrate who we are, what we do and, most importantly, the children and young people we support.
