Been relatively boring with not much to show off with lately. Did go to this fridge freezer today that was intermitantly leaking water out the freezer door. I found the freezer drain hole was completly clogged with mildew due to a very poor design choice from Samsung. Made adjustments to the drain outlet to stop this happening again, cleared through the drain hole and removed ice from the freezer. During post checks I also found the display wasnt working. This was again down to poor design of the wiring loom location being bent from 90 to 180 degrees every time the door is opened. This caused the breakages in the loom that had to be repaired as it was currently a shock and fire hazard. All fixed on a 1st visit

Got asked to look at this washing machine by one of our estate agents today. Originally it wasnt draining, but, the tenant decided to "have a crack" himself. He stripped the machine and was in the process of trying to remove the sump when the machine started sparking uncontrollably as he was sat in a puddle of water. He was working on the machine when it was LIVE!! He then abandoned his project and left the machine exposed and still LIVE!! Without informing anyone! Had i not practiced safe isolation drills and just assumed the machine was safe seeing as the lid was left off, I could not be going home this evening. Unfortunately the failed attempt by the tenant has now left this washer beyond economical repair and he will most likely be left with a bill for a new machine by his landlord. Id say he got off lightly and should buy a lottery ticket before his luck runs out. We are trained professionals, undertaking rigorous safety precautions to protect ourselves and equally importantly you, the customer. Please book a repair, a gravestones more expensive.

Delightful customer today, in a penthouse overlooking the clifton suspension bridge no less. Her microwave was running for approx 10 seconds and then cutting out. This is a fairly common result from an overheated and damaged magnatron. I fit a new main control board at the same time as I had previously found damaged componants in here also. Once work was completed I tested the appliance and all was working to spec. Of your only microwaving small things (smaller than a full plate of food) you MUST reduce the wattage. Unspent/absorbed microwaves will return to the magnatron and cause this overheating issue.

Sometimes being a slight hoarder is a blessing. Got called to this BEKO washer dryer displaying f07. This refers to a drainage issue. In this instance the machines programming board was not receiving a signal from pressure switch due to a damaged cable that was installed too tight at manufacturer. I found a matching plug from my extensive supply of spare wiring looms in the back of my van, wired it in with the required extra wiring and hey presto! Machines now working without any issues.

Bit of a slow day today but did go down to WSM so fish and chips for lunch. Before lunch though I inspected this dishwasher that had stopped heating. Nothing immediatly wrong when doing electrical safety checks. Wasn't until I removed the base of the appliance I found the cause. A hairline crack in the salt (water softener) was leaking. This had caused accelerated corrosion of drain pump, wash pump and heater. This unfortunatly takes this machine past being economical to repair. Apparently the machine has been "acting funny" for a while. If id managed to see this sooner it could have been repaired. If your domestic appliances are "acting funny" drop us an email and book an appointment. Catching faults early will lengthen the life of your appliances.

Got asked to come look at this oven that was taking too long to heat up. The heating element tested perfect, well within spec, found the main oven fan motor was seized. Stripped the original motor down on site and cleaned with electrical contact cleaner. Lubricated the moving parts with an odourless heat resistant oil and reinstalled. Repair complete with no additional parts. Another happy customer, on to the next house!

Beautiful first job of the day to start the week. New tenant just moved in on friday and the landlord hasn't given them the user manual for the cooker. Tenant complained the main oven wasnt working. Found that the clock had not been set and the child lock was on stopping the clock from setting. I found the user manual online and printed off for the tenant before leaving the yard this morning. Tenant now has a functioning oven and I've saved enough time to get myself a coffee.

Visited a lovely Spanish lady today, she'd just moved into a flat in a very nice part of the city centre. She went to use her oven for the first time over Christmas and her flat was quickly filled with thick, black and achrid smoke. After a previous engineer came and said there was nothing wrong with the oven she asked me to come and inveatigate. I found the main oven element was covered in oil from the previous tenants poor cleaning. I replaced the element from my spares kit I keep in the van and tested. No more smoke and the tenant can cook again.

First day back after a VERY long christmas break. First job back was to see an induction hob that was working fine and then BANG just blew up. Initial inspections verified my pre diagnosis. Blown capacitors and transistors found on the main induction board. This has been caused by the customer using these "induction compatible" pans. Induction hobs require magnetic material to work. These pans are made of aluminium with a tiny sliver of steel in the base. These pans make your hob work at 100% power 100% of the time and cause premature failure of electrical componants. In this case a repair would outweigh the cost of replacement.

Got called to this dishwasher today. After a failed repair the customer had paid £250 for a repair due to the machine not heating. The previous engineer had fit a 2nd hand washpump and heater, said "all done" and walked out the door. I arrived and tested the machine. Found the washpump and heater were both non functional, the turbidity sensor NTC had a fault and fat blockages in the water pressure sensor. Just what you want right before christmas. As a professional hoarder I just so happened to have everything required in my van. 30 minutes later and the machine was up and running. Easy work for an electrolux trained engineer.
